You can already use bots as long as you are sitting at your computer ready to answer if someone asks you something. If you leave the computer your are considered breaking the rules and will be banned.

Nope, shaz said in his last stream that you are allowed to bot, as long as you keep an eye on the rose icon. If it starts flashing he wants you to respond.

Oh did they change it? That's sad, I hoped they just removed the possibility altogether.

Well you know, Shaz isn't always right. According to the terms of service, (unless they changed them), botting is always bannable.

He's the one who bans the bots, means he most likely knows what he's talking about.

This is a touchy subject. Botting should only be used for crafting but some players might "need" to use it to help them play.

Hence, I follow this statement ::  the use of unattended macros is treated the same as a third party program. If you are to make use of a macro, you must be attending it actively and you may only run one macro on one client. You are not allowed to macro on one client while you actively play another. If you leave a macro unattended for even a moment, you are considered to be "botting." There are no exceptions to this rule.

So why risk it if you don't need to use it.

Well shaz, since you kindly mentioned that the client will light up once you check for the activity, it basicly means that everyone can use a macro even while the game is minimized. You just have to keep an eye on the icon.

I can't see the risk at this point, sorry.

Oh and one question about the red-marked text, does this mean that using a bot during pvp for certain skill combos / food consumption is legal?

This is so confusing, back in days simply all 3ed party tools were illegal.

I have to agree with this. I know for a fact some people bot on multiple clients, and watch a movie, or even play another game. They just keep an eye on the computer, and if the yellow notification comes up, they quick do what they have to, to keep from being caught.

That would be great, if indeed everyone else played, but the fact is, most bot. I even know for a fact, that some have botted in front of you Shaz, and weren't worried about being caught. IMO, botting and boredom are the two biggest killers of this game. If you guys don't start really coming down on them, this game has not much hope left.

The problem is that allowing macros in certain situations (like crafting) leaves the door open for people to use them in other situations and as always, some people will take things to an extreme. The same thing happened at my old server. Initially it was allowed if the user was at their pc. it was abused to the point that we finally banned them completely. it's always difficult to enforce something like this, but at least if botting is completely banned, the consequences would be clear right up front.

My current artisan is still low level, and I know people here do a lot of mass crafting for ammo and pots etc but I'm wondering if the recent data base update has made it possible for something to be implemented here that we had at titan. Not sure if there is a technical term but I used to refer to it as turbo crafting. Basically you would drag over your mats to the crafting box and manually put in the quantity that you wanted to make. Then you pressed start and it continuously crafted until that number of items was made (or if you ran out of a mat etc) I doubt that I have any ss of this unfortunately but if that could be put in here, then there would be no legal reason to use macros. I think it would make the rules and the consequences much easier for everyone to understand if all botting was made illegal.

I just want all bot to stop. As Bob said people can just minimized the window and work on another thing while have the client up in the background but can see the client. It's just eaiser to say '' All botting to levling is bannable'' and with crafting you need to be at the client.

''Why play the game when you not gonna play it?''
