So if this is true, then why are my shadow gears still breaking when it says it is on attempt #1? -.- What is this whole, "you get a 2nd try"? Because I can't exactly get a second try on gears that it destroys on the first attempt.

It seems like both attempts happen in 1 upgrade attempt, which is kinda confusing, wish they had explained this a bit better on the page...

It seems just about all the info, & wording, on the website, in regards to the Shadow Equipment is confusing.

 

Like does this mean once it's +7 it won't break uprading after it? Just the refine levels go up & down.

For HD it works exactly the same as generous hammer. Also it's 2 upgrade attempts per upgrade consuming 1 ore. If you succeed on the first it will say refine attempt 1 successful. If you succeed on the second it will say refine attempt 2 successful.

Yeah, just happened to be that both attempts failed on multiple gears in a row..

It works with all. Once it is actually used it is gone.

Works if your using enrich ores too from +4-7

unless they changed it specifically for shadow gears, no.

 

Separate question: let's say a double refine fails 2x on a +7 piece of gear using HD ores.  Does that mean it goes down to +5?
