This is a continuation of this thread in the proper section.

 

Once again with the new guardian and emp changes, it's proving that defending has oh-so-many advantages over offense. I really would like to say "wp guild X" but at the moment it is "wp guardians and mortar spam" on a level which is as bad as TF2's dustbowl map. East and west forts consist of a one-entrance choke full of mortar spam and guardians that can't be brought out far enough to kill otherwise they reset. In the latest WoE I was up on the balcony clearing the endless mortars when I was attacked by two KZ -- both died with little of my HP gone, only for me to get two-shotted by a guardian archer (checked combat logs to confirm). This pales in comparison to the leader who has a ton more health and can 2-shot/knock down an entire raid due to AoE. Nobody needs to defend, the guardians in lag do it for you, the added mortar spam on top makes it truly impossible to do, and thus WoE is going to get stagnated with no forts or castles being swapped around. it's not PvP anymore, it's PvE.

 

Some suggestions:

  • Tone down the guardians in both health and damage, or even better just remove them. We don't even need to defend anything as an offense team because we're confident the guardians will just do it all for us -- that and the gate health gives us a year to give a damn about it and finally decide to go clear people out.
  • Bring back base buffs to super-charge a guild for a push on a fort/the castle and actually give them an advantage.
  • East and west forts have a single choke point which can be spammed by mortars and the clustered guardians inside make it impossible to push. Open up more access points to the fort so defense groups have to plan and spread their forces while offense groups can try pushing in different methods.
  • Mortar silence should not last as long as it does / there should be a limit to how many mortars a guild can place. There's no denying mortars are the premier siege weapon right now and are likely too strong.

 

tl;dr make WoE PvP and not PvE. I hope I'm not the only one here who is realizing how broken defending is compared to attacking and that WoE is going to stagnate with nothing ever happening with stalemate standoffs.

Lol People wanted WoE npcs/buildings buffed up. Now we realize devs went out of hand with it and its too much xD

Truth is, these changes wouldn't be bad if the situation were different. Regardless of what changes we've got so far, WoE is still stuck in a same situation. And if its not x guild now, its gonna be y guild or z guild anyways. Wish there were more people joining WoE, even if small guilds just showing up to fight and practice. But between the insane lag, extremely low fps, map bugs (killer hill falls, blocked paths, unclimbable places, unclimbable stairs, bugged tresspassable walls,etc), game based around having full +20 gear (aka p2w much tbh), and not to mention broken classes/skills......its not really an incentive for players to join WoE. Thus, its all about the few still big/active/pvp guilds in there. That's stupid boring. It doesn't even matter who controls castle or fort because the stagnation will happen with either guild, we all know this very well. If it wasn't for the bugs and lag, I'm sure even small guilds would show how strong they can be.

 

TL;DR= WoE needs a whole load of bug fixes asap, and REAL reworking, not just mere buffs. Just fixing the bugs/lag alone would already attract much more people to it, trust me.

QQ about this and that won't help.

Fix the lag, Fix the bug ( stairs, death by sliping off a cliff,ridge, WOE siege weaps not functioning )

WOE with be so much fun.

Well rumor has it ignatius is a PvP set, and as far as we have seen NO PVP SET HAS EVER HAD SEED RUNES SO THERE IS NO REASON TO INCLUDE THEM. That can actually beused as a reason to exclude them :) to keep it consistent, but ignatius is OP as hell so who knows :D. Also I think if the WoE attendance was higher maybe these super guardians wouldn't be as big of a deal... Imagine 1k people rushing a fort....those guardians wouldn't do -_-.

In the words of Fold "WoE was intended to be 200+ people sieging the castle" that may be true.... but with 200+ people on that woe map my video card would just die instantly, besides with the population of the server, the mass of the server would have to be in woe for it to be anything like that. In the words of Fold "WoE was intended to be 200+ people sieging the castle" that may be true.... but with 200+ people on that woe map my video card would just die instantly, besides with the population of the server, the mass of the server would have to be in woe for it to be anything like that. Rofl

Another good point is that half the siege gear is pretty much useless right now, rams are low dps, catapults and cannons don't do -_- to people anymore but knock them out of hide, of course woe is gay when all you can do is mortar spam (and protection stones don't actually work I.e. tested during woe) and some broken pvp.

The only way I would accept recall back is if these requirements were met:

1.) Unaffected by vigor.

2.) It was on guild cd not player cd.

3.) The bug was fixed so you can't recall to the castle as soon as castle flips.

Or else it's just a wasted skill for abuser ' s to umm.... abuse rofl

I'm in for the "remove seed runes" from newer gear...ESPECIALLY if the coming set will be pvp. Like hell no, I don't wanna see seeds on them. I know people QQ a lot about having spent so much on seeds and dont wanna let them go. But come on... It also sucked for me, long ago, when I had to let refined weapons and expensive crafted gear (yo, it was quite expensive to me back then!) rot in storage because suddenly we got AoD and it was zomg better, and then Chaos gear came and gg bye pretty older stuff. Refining a t2 colo weapon which for a while was so strong, then after some patch boom! colo gear became trash compared to even greens from dayr (at least for general purposes). Point is...we all have to let things go at some point and change gear and feel we wasted money. Its gear progression, it happens in any game, so the seeds are no excuse. Unless you did spend millions on "that power 40" or "blue 50". Well, sowwy, you didn't really need to. They were originally truly meant for Chaos gear, because those pieces were designed to use seeds as compensation/boost for them and their lack in some aspect. All other gear shouldnt have seeds; we just got spoiled in this sense. Rotten spoiled. See the results now,people depending so much on seeds, they making a difference along with full +20 and even devs basing the endgame on having high % seeds and +20 ~_~ Like wtf, thats not how you do a game.

I agree and disagree.

 

If Ignatus or whatever gear is called comes out with CLS runes, the only difference is that people will fight in equal conditions in PvP. There won't be an X with 40% power, fighting a Y guy with 0% power.

Yet, i agree with Baddiez, if right now we can 1 shot classes with these new gear + skill balances, then guess what 50% PvP damage increase will affect...even though, i rather to fight in thatcondition than someone who got his 20% shock and 40% power before AoV and nobody else can get it cause of 0.0000645% chances which is bugged since AoV came out.

 

So yeah, at some point it's balancing and unbalancing, i could fight for example Baddiez at the same conditions instead of me having higher seed runes than him or viceversa. We'll see.

Ragnarok online 2, gear progression? No seed progression :D

Really though at least with cls runes we can stack defense or attack runes, but it would still be imbalanced as -_-, in the end it's all the same thing who lands the lucky oneshot first not actual skill base *shrugs*
