Hi all,

I'm having issues connecting to the server because every time I try to log in, I get this error:

Untitled-2.png

I've tried

- selecting "check all" and "check plugins" in the launcher

- reinstalling the game from the official website (multiple times)

- forwarding the ports as the support FAQ suggested here

- running as admin

- completely resetting my router

I'm running windows 7 on bootcamp through my macbook. Up until now, I haven't had any issues with the client, it was just a random thing that happened.

I would repose the same question in Vuu's thread but the situation is a lil more clear.

I'm just going to assume everything is the same anyway, but, did you tell the patcher to reset to default?

You could also hard code it the the original settings for an extra measure

Paste the following in the 'launcher.ini' file. Delete everything else that doesn't match, then save it.

Have you verified none of the settings in Bootcamp have changed? It seems like it's denying TRose.exe access to the internet, but it allows the patcher to, which is a separate executable.

Yeah but even though you didn't manually do something doesn't mean the program didn't do something while it was running. Have you tried re-installing bootcamp?

This is odd, you may have to wait for some debugging assistance from the crew or a tech head, see if slow bob can help ya.

In Windows, try going to Start > Run..., type in cmd then click OK.

When the command prompt window appears, type in ping 128.241.92.36 and press the enter key.  The output should appear like this:

Pinging 128.241.92.36 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 128.241.92.36: bytes=32 time=171ms TTL=125
Reply from 128.241.92.36: bytes=32 time=169ms TTL=125
Reply from 128.241.92.36: bytes=32 time=167ms TTL=125
Reply from 128.241.92.36: bytes=32 time=171ms TTL=125

Ping statistics for 128.241.92.36:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 167ms, Maximum = 171ms, Average = 169ms

If there is more than a 0% loss in packets, Boot Camp or your Windows Firewall is probably blocking something.  I don't have a Mac so I can't really help troubleshoot your Boot Camp issues, but for Windows Firewall, you would go to Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall.  In the Windows Firewall window, select Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall from the left hand menu.  Click Allow another program..., click Browse..., navigate to your ROSE Online folder and select TRose.exe, click Open, then click Add to add it to your firewall's exception list.  Follow those steps again and add RoseOnline.exe to your firewall's exception list as well.  If the game isn't letting you log in after adding those programs to Windows Firewall, there is likely an issue with Boot Camp.

---

If the packet loss reports 0%, again in the command prompt window, type in ipconfig /flushdns, and press enter.  The output should appear like this:

Windows IP Configuration

Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.

then type in ipconfig /renew, and press enter.  The output should appear similarly to this:

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:

   Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . :
   Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : xxxx::xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx
   IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
   Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
   Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Lastly, restart Windows and see if it will let you log into ROSE.

it's still at 100% loss after allowing trose.exe and roseonline.exe through my firewall.

also, when i try to flush dns, it says "no operation can be performed on Bluetooth Network Connection while it has its media disconnected."

What does ipconfig /all output for you?

Also, what does tracert 128.241.92.36 output for you?

I believe uTorrent has a proxy IP system built into it... possible that it updated itself and prevented you and possibly Squipy from logging in?

i don't have uTorrent downloaded on Windows though, only on OS X and the proxy server is disabled on it.

i believe the issue is with my service provider. other people in my area are having the same problem trying to connect to game servers.

problem was solved by contacting my ISP, who have fixed the issue for everyone :)
