i joined this forum at the end of june 2014. i noticed when i was exploring some old threads, there are posts having negative voted, like the post had -1 and it painted red rather than positive vote which marked as green. I wonder how to do that? are we still having that kind of feature? coz i want to negative vote maaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyyy people posts especially in maintenance thread, hehehe.... :p_devil:

You don't need to worry about that anymore. If you were looking through the forum and found that feature, I'm sure you could look through a few more of the threads and see what the feature was. I'm sure you have ALL the time in the world anyhow.

I tried asking for the feature back during a Tiki Tuesday before. Oda prompted that with a laugh and huge "NO!" because it was abused.

I don't know why people bellyached so much about the up-down vote system. if you were a terrible forum poster you had a bad rep. If you were a good poster you had a positive rep. Even people who troll or say offensive stuff a lot like myself had a large, large pool of green votes still in their profile, because at the end of the day, your true colors shone based on the overall quality of your posting, rather than 1 or 2 isolated events where you got picked on with red votes, or what have you.

I think they should bring it back too. We can't have objective discussion, when someone is hiding half of the truth. Some people will think twice before posting some stupid things. And I'm not afraid of getting "-"s too.

Man I'd love to have a negative vote system. All the people with high post counts on here think they are special or something because they spend all day posting and love to circle jerk with each other, especially when defending the poor innocent GMs against evil people who might possibly say something negative about iRO, but I think you will find that if negative votes are implemented, all these suckups would be downvoted into oblivion every time they post. I've seen it happen on nearly every forum I have frequented. People don't like to speak up against the suck-ups, but they sure as heck don't mind downvoting them anonymously!

And of course that's why it will never be implemented.

That's not a reason, that's a cop-out.

The real reason is because those people who spend all day on the forums would start crying and wasting the GM's time with complaints about being downvoted. People with a couple hundred or so posts aren't going to give a crap about their "forum reputation," the only people that care are those with thousands of posts who spend all day posting just for the sake of posting.

I don't blame them for disabling the negative votes, but they should disable the positive votes as well. positive votes don't mean anything if you don't have negative votes. if you see someone with +5 upvotes that doesn't mean poop, because for all you know, there may be 50 people who didn't like that post, but you'll never know that because their voices have been silenced.

Or they could just, you know, type out a dissenting opinion.

They could, but as someone who has been banned from the forums multiple times for my dissenting opinions, and had many posts deleted, that doesn't often work out well. The censorship here discourages debate.

I had a post deleted like five days or so ago that wasn't even that bad. I was simply pointing out how much more dangerous south prontera is for newbies now thanks to the delay in dbs (which was the opposite effect GMs hoped to have happen). Now there aren't many people hanging out there anymore, so even though you cant spam the dbs, they are more dangerous because there are less people to kill them.

I watched like six newbies die the other day to a db that normally would have been killed in seconds prior to the delay.

Or you know, you could tone down the bitching, and actually be calm and collected about how you post things. That might be what got you banned from forums before, but you know, that's just my opinion on the matter, and you will counter saying I'm an idiot. So I decided to get that out of the way for you. :no1:

Edit: Oh, and a lot of the people with high post counts...have you EVER looked at most of the threads in the Market section? Majority of the posts in there are just people bumping it to the top of the list. So, yeah, that takes all of what, 10 seconds?

I'm generally pretty calm about what I post, and I don't call people an idiot unless they are spreading misinformation.

Of course I am not shy about expressing my displeasure when I see things happening that makes me believe the GMs don't really care about this game anymore.

*edit, since you asked about the market section*

Yes, I have my own thread there as well and I go there to check prices quite often, but I think we all know who I am talking about when I refer to the people with high posts, there is no point in trying to blame it on market section bumps when these people post in nearly every thread in the discussion section as well :)

Too many people were making alt accounts simply to be jerks with the downvote button.

Also, upping a post to say "I agree with this" is a lot more helpful than simply downvoting it to say "I disagree with this". You don't really need to give your opinions if they've already been said and you can just agree with a previous post, but for an actual discussion to take place anyone that disagrees needs to have reasons for doing so.

I dunno about that. Maybe a couple people might upvote a comment, so you think what you are saying is ok, but what you don't know is ten other people don't agree with you, but they aren't saying anything because they don't like drama.

Just get rid of votes completely, they are useless.

He has to have a short memory, all the replays, and screens of him dropping DBs on low levels, and anyone who says he should stop, are proof that he does it, yet claims not to. Suspicious~

Honestly I don't remember this conversation, but I wont deny it because I do enjoy messing with people. Usually when i lie about a card, I claim to have a Tao Gunka.

I have also claimed to be sleeping with GMs, but that's also untrue, believe it or not.
