Seriously though, I thought I was going to do a simple oil change, and when I go to take off the oil filter, it won't budge. I've busted a knuckle and strained a muscle trying to get this friggin thing off. Anyone got some advice? It's a 2007 VW Rabbit.

I'm from Germany and surely know what a "VW" is.
But what the hell is a VW Rabbit???

Volkswagen Rabbit. From what I understand it's very similar to a Golf. They were only made (recently) between 2006 and 2008 I want to say. Outside of those years, it was the Golf, and I wanna say back in the 80's there were more Rabbits. At any rate, it's a pretty sweet little car. And yes, I finally managed to get the oil filter housing off. Had to clamp down on it with a C-Clamp, and then smack the arm sticking out with a hammer.

The VW Rabbit was a pickup truck from the '80s.
Usually for oil filters there is a special clamp you can use to twist it off. However, German automakers prefer it if you have work done at their shops. So they make it a hassle to do it yourself.
