Hi guys, does anyone know if it is possible to gain 100% fire resistance by equipping/using fire armor + jakk carded garment + fireproof pot?

 

Or they don't stack?

elemental armor and % resistances do not stack additively. they multiply so if you have jakk and fire armor you take 25% damage after the fire armor and then the 30% from the jakk only applies to the 25% remaining so you end up with the jakk reducing 7.5% more damage to a total of 17.5% of the total damage.

 

Now if you had jakk(30%), valk shield(20%), double kafra blossom cards(10% x 2), whatever red stone is in a headgear(forget the card) and a fire proof pot(10% and 20%) that adds to 100% directly without any elemental armor. Reducable fire skills will miss you(or do 1 depending on calculation). Dragon breath ignores % reductions(but not elemental armor) for example so this setup does nothing vs it.

%reduction works against all kind of elemental attack expect RK's dragon breath.

So if you have 100 fire resistance then the MVP meteor storm deals only 1damage per hit.

It's not just dragon breath, there's a bunch of skills that ignore elemental reduction. For fire I think that's the only one though? Oh wait, claymore trap does. Most hunter traps ignore % reduction, suicidal destruction does, hell plant does, warg bite/strike do. Just examples.

I can only think of this as being a great way to deal with Waterball-happy MVPs.

Ah it's alright, the one I'm curious about is mainly resistance to MVP skills. Thanks for all the info! Helps me to clear out my doubts.
