I would hope that server announcement that goes off ocassionally about gms not asking for personal info or passwords would help someone at least.

That should be in there, as well as usually having a loading screen with that same message.

Too bad we can't get the message to run in various different languages.  I wouldn't be surprised if there are plenty of people playing this game whose proficiency in English is far too low to understand most of the server announcements.

There wouldn't be scammers if there weren't any people who fall for it, sadly. Best we can do is try to keep as many people informed as possible.

Edit: He pmed me, the name was "$iraulo                   iRO CM Oda"

That character was not his to begin with, It was initially one of my characters. He must've gained access to it somehow. That explains why I couldn't access it anymore.

I agree but unfortunately my loading screens zip by so fast that I never get to "enjoy" them.

People really used to enjoy them though with those ancient PCs. Well, RO is an old game.

In regards to Levolt, he asked me to post this as a favor.

He has his account back and has changed his passwords and taken measures to avoid being scammed again.

So yeah :<

It sucks that these scammers can make a person's name tainted even after the fact.
