Hey everyone,

I just want to start off with I am really enjoying Rag online so far and I just bought VIP.

I have a few pretty major questions and I hope I have not screwed myself.

1) I am an Acolyte and recently hit 55/50. I am assuming I need to do the priest quest next but I am confused as to this transcendant stuff.... what levels/job levels should I be looking at changing / transcending? Is priest at job 50, then what?

2) I want to end up as a main healer but for leveling I have been soloing a lot and have invested heavily in more melee oriented stats (such as dex so I don't miss, miss, miss, miss). Is this ok to an extent as eventually I can reset my stats or how does that work exactly?

3) What level/where is the first group oriented dungeon that I would find people grouping for? So far it seems like it is mostly soloers everywhere I go such as Payon cave and Izlude water dungeon. I always like the social aspect of MMOs but have yet to find people grouping much.

Appreciate the answer to these three questions!  =P

1) You need to reach base level 99 to transcendent. You will reach Priest Job Level 50 much muuuch earlier than that. Then you won't get skill points anymore, just base level ups.

2) There is no free way to reset stats as far as I know. I think there is a stat resetter that uses a number of Reset Stones to reset your stats, though. Also your stats all get reset to 1 if you transcendent.

You need DEX anyway for cast time and VIT for survivability, so it doesn't hurt if you put stats in those. Only STR and AGI are usually really wasted if you want to be full support (and LUK is wasted if you don't plan to get Turn Undead). But honestly, I always go pure INT during Acolyte stage simply to get more SP and SP recovery. I still solo by offensive healing if I can't find a party (that's why I need lots of SP). Once I'm Priest I drop getting INT at all and go for DEX and VIT for faster casting and defense (once you have Magnificat you won't have much SP problems anymore).

3) It's very hard to find a group inside lower-level dungeons these days, better go to Prontera and ask around there. Or just talk to every 1st job you see to start getting connections. Or find yourself a casual guild that also has players around your level. While I found RO usually very party-friendly, the main problem is that on low levels, it's hard to find players in your exp share range, because most players are higher level.

it won't matter if you mess up your pre-trans build since you start over at 1/1 after transcending, so don't worry about stat resets.  you can keep resetting skills until you reach level 100; there is an npc in pront and one in izlude (hypnotist) who will do it for you so you can mess around and find a build that is suitable for you.

You should try to join a guild and make friends. People in the same guild or friends list as you are more likely to want to form a group with you than random strangers. (I know, that is kind of obvious, but it is true).

In the 70+ range, the "turn ins" offered by Gramps NPC in the eden group are really popular for pick-up parties with strangers. You basically enter one of the maps the NPC warps you to, and either create a chatroom saying "NP> 70 Priest" (stands for need 'party: level 70 priest') and someone will know to send you an invite. Alternately, someone might be recruiting ("R>" in chat title) and will list what level of party members they are looking for. Enter their chatroom and ask to join, if you match their criteria.

Nice, I appreciate the information!

***So I will just continue on the path I am on for now pumping most points into int/dex with splash of vit. So I think I am beginning to undersatdn transcend.... so basically once I become a priest (Should I change to priest now since I am now job level 50 acolyte?) I get to level 100 job level 50 as priest, then transcend... then once transcend i reset stat points, become a high priest (basically replacing acolyte?) then do I get to level 100/50 again then transcend a third time for arch bishop?

****WIth the group thing, the gramps npc sounds interesting.... so is that what I should assume? Around level 70 I will start finding people wanting to group via that quest?

What other group content should i be expecting as I level?

Yes, when you reach job level 50 as Acolyte, you should change to Priest. You will be MUCH stronger then and are more likely to find a party too.

And yes, basically the correct order is:

Novice 1/1 -> Novice x/10 -> Acolyte x/1 -> Acolyte x/50 -> Priest x/1 -> Priest x/50 -> Priest 99/50 -> High Novice 1/1 -> High Novice x/10 -> High Acolyte x/1 -> High Acolyte x/50 -> High Priest x/1 -> High Priest 99/x -> High Priest 99/70 -> Arch Bishop 100/1

Generally, this is the HIGHLY suggested route. However, since expanded and baby characters can't transcend, it's possible to totally skip transcending on any class. Be warned, though, that if you go straight to third class on a normal class character, you'll miss out on valuable skills and stat points.
