i thinking of a Shotgun/Grenade built with 52int/90vit/90dex

 

any thoughts?

 

Also what kind of guns should i equip it with?

Shotgun-wise, definitely Gatekeeper or Gatekeeper-DD, whichever one you can carry around with your limited weight since you're forgoing STR entirely.

Grenade Launcher, it'll depend if you want to go PVM or PVP with it.

You're going to need a lot of bullets and spheres for each since both Shotguns and Grenade Launchers have low hit rates. The high DEX will definitely help with Shotguns, but I don't know how effective it is for Grenade Launchers. Shotgun build will rely heavily on skills to do significant damage and those skills will eat up your bullet supply quickly if you don't carry enough. Spheres for Grenade Launchers will take up even more space so I don't know how you plan to balance that if you're going to switch between the 2. It's possible if you're going to main Shotgun with Grenade Launcher as backup, but if you're not going to use Grenade Launcher all that much in the end, you'd be better off just going full Shotgun instead.

yeah, I don't think I'll be using grenade launcher. Though i might look into shotgun build.

The only problem I have is inability to recover SP. With my ninja and mage, I'm fine as long as I wait or sit. But with Gunslinger? Nope! Is there anyway I can regain SP better and faster? Or do I have to rely of food/potions?

i dont know about gunslinger skills...but Rideword Hat, Vanagand Helm,Incubus pet are some way to gain sp they give a chance for % of the dmg you do to be leeched

If you're starting like I was back then, I'd recommend AGI pistol build instead of shotgun or ANY other builds at all. In case you got mobbed, you'll still have Desperado.

It might be the slowest one to level but at least you don't have to burn a lot of pots. You'll be fine with Eden gears till 99.

Yeah, Gunslingers don't have any skills to help them recover SP so you'll be heavily reliant on consumables for SP regeneration.

Also, I read on an iRO wiki that certain monster cards can help with SP recovery as well. Such as the earth deleter card, which recovers bit of SP for every enemy defeated. Though I'm not even sure how I'm going to even get those cards in the first place.

I'm afraid Earth Deleter no longer works with Gunslingers, I used to run it with Desperado but it no longer works, now I'm trying to build a Rifle 'slinger. Uses less SP with wounding shot but still trying to find ways to improve it.

 

Tried triple action launcher too..pretty good but same problem as always, SP.

 

Current stat after resetting: 99 dex, 60+2 int, vit 50, 4 luk, rest agi.

 

Weight and Damage seems to be my current problem, Weight can be solved via Gym Pass. So just damage.

SP costs will be one of the biggest problem you will have as a gunslinger. You can try to increase your Max SP with various cards (ex. Willow card) and gears (ex. Vidar boots) or decrease the sp cost (ex. ulle's cap + Odin's blessing), but you will still end up consuming a lot of strawberries or blue pots, especially if you don't have sp recovery gears such as vanagand.

 

Earth deleter only works with melee attacks. Desperado used to be considered a melee attack, so Desperado + Earth deleter had negated the high sp cost. Now, it has been changed to ranged so Desperado + Earth Deleter is no longer valid.

I personally have tried to make a pistol-rifle-shotgun-grenade launcher hybrid GS(i pack 4 type of weapon with 2 type of ammo in my GS ) and I found that my biggest problem is switching the weapon and the bullet it uses. If u equip a bullet, you cant equip grenade launcher. And if u equip spheres you cant equip pistol, rifle & shotgun. You simply need 4-6 hotkey presses in right sequence in order to switch weapon and make it work. Its too tedious to do while trying to kill monsters and surviving the horde lol

Finally I reset my GS with mesmerist and convert my GS into Pistol-Shotgun hybrid build. As for gatling gun, that THING is dumb as hell. The skill is dumb, the aspd is dumb, skill requirement is dumb and the damage is plain horrible. I thought I will be badass shooting 6000 bullet/min like M61 Vulcan IRL and shooting at RG and RK like a piece of paper lol

My only hope is the Rebellion class will be here soon...

 

Pistol - aim for Wasteland Outlaw[2]   or Garrison [2]

Shotgun - Gate Keeper DD

Rifle - Lever Action Rifle [2] for cheap crit damage (good for newbie with little fund)

Gatling gun - Butcher [2] lv 2 weapon and the damage is terrible, LAR will easily out DPM this thing

Grenade Launcher - Inferno [1] the damage is mediocre, aspd is like shotgun, exchanging the bullet need tons of pratices...
