Why don't the vendors simply sell it w/ overcharge?

I vend a massive amount of low priced things myself, sometimes for prices as low as 5k for misc items like cute pet armors etc. Often I think to myself how the opportunity cost of listing something else and literally dropping the item if I'm gonna ask for only 5k would be much more productive but then....

It's also about providing items to others. At least for me it's not always about making maximum profit, more or less it's about selling items instead of just dropping because they're now seen as junk. I remember my first days playing RO way back before 2-2 classes and how valuable even basic stuff was. Elemental weapons etc, it's more of a hopeful thought that they're new RO players out there that can make use of the "junk" cards and items that are vended.

For some, maybe they don't even check what's the path of maximum profit and again, a few k of zeny isn't anything worth to try to make a profit on.

If you sell something very cheap, that item appears on the 'Cheap' section of Ragial where most people camp to buy cheap/wrong-priced/lacking-1-digit/etc. items. Hence, people will be able to view your vend store and see your other more important items for sale, at least that's what I observed.

Bible[2] is eat gear fodder for me, not worth the trouble vending it, but definitely worth turning into a chance at getting a weapon cert.

I routinely scalp royal jelly and stuff from vendors selling below OC price. *shrug* I'm making a 10%~ profit for the effort of walking from their shop to the gift merchant.

For gear, if it can be vended for 50k I vend it, otherwise I NPC or drop it.

The seller may be just trying to make the item available to newbies who might have a use for it, rather than destroying it. Dropping it or vending for 0z would lead to someone who doe4sn't need it grabbing it.

I'm disinterested in ropd'ing everyone I give gear to. I go to a starting area and drop a lot of stuff. If high level players really want a chainmail or pet armor that badly, have at.

Holydemoniclight, you should really make a merchant.  There are so many things you can do with a merchant: buy items from a npc for a cheaper price, sell items to npc for more money, vend item to sell, and have 100 extra storage space!!!  Not to mention, if you make your merchant into a blacksmith, you can have the greed skill which can help u make even more money!

yeah...i mean there's no limit to how many accounts a user can have anyway so even if non-VIP you can keep making 3 chars for every account.  I'm sure there are some people out there with hordes of merchant accounts just to store all the crap they've accumulated over the years :3

The Terms of Service states that only one account is to be used by one person :/ You can have three on one WP account, but they must not be used by the same person if I read it correctly.

nope.  that doesn't even make sense.  if anything what you're describing would be discouraged as you are sharing your info with 2 other people.

I used to purposely vend crappy cards at 1z to draw attention to my shop... Lol.

Even if it wasn't effective maybe I made someone happy to get a free spore card I would've dropped on the ground anyway. :P

If you cant spare a hour or 2 to make a merchant with some much needed skills(overcharge, discount, and vend), then I hope you have some deep pockets cause you will be using way more zeny buying stuff like healing items, ASPD potions, and fwings to level.  And I hope you like putting up a chat everytime you want to sell something, because thats what you're gonna have to go thru.  I have not meet a single person in game that does not have a merchant.

I'm a priest, so I usually get by just picking up drops from the TI to buy blue gems. I'm getting a merchant, but seeing as this is my first grinding based mmo, leveling is hard ~_~;;
