Hello hello, just a few quick questions. I haven't played since long before renewal was released. Started playing some time in '03. Decided to come back as I have a lot more time, and I'd like to revisit it.

Anyways, I'm looking for a comprehensive leveling spot guide. The typical "10 - 20 go here, 20 - 30 go here" sorta thing. I tried looking but all of the ones I've found have been for renewal. My starting class is going to be a smith, currently a lvl 20 merchant.

Aside from that, any advice for a returning player? I've been doing some reading up, but it's only been a day since I started back. Any tips hints or advice would be greatly appreciated. Such as stat builds or skills that are a must have. As well as things you wish you had known when you started playing. =)

Thanks for any and all help with this.

hi! I'm actually in the same boat as you, i stopped playing around the same time - probably 04 or 05. I'm trying to get back into the game as well. I've found the following website quite useful to getting back on board - but not so sure how generic the leveling guide is. here's a link:

Otherwise, welcome back! lots has changed, but i really do suggest you try the eden quests. the gear is not bad and you get a good amount of xp on top of xp from farming.

hf!

I would recommend the two maps south of Payon to be good spots early on. Spores and Wolves don't attack for much and both drop Strawberries which you can vend to fund yourself early on (though wolves assist, so take on one at a time unless you are prepared for a mob). Max Overcharge+Discount and get Crazy Uproar+Cart Revolution when you can. Here are some more resources that will help you get going.

The thing I find very useful is: make your main char and a merchant on 1 account, and an aco on the 2nd account.

That way you can heal yourself, save some zeny for pots, have your own personal taxi, and a buff slave in long run.
