I havent seen any vid of a IRO GX getting far but i dunno GX would stop around Ifrit or FBH unless decked out with multiple MVP cards

It's possible to certain levels but you do needs lots of potions, ygg berries/seeds, and other consumables. The video might not be iRO and they may be using consumables and you don't see it.

It's not really worth it in general to invest too much GX specific gear for this purpose. Main problem being you can't really wear a shield when attacking. It's much easier, effective, and cost efficient using a Genetic.

Genetic definitely blows gx out of the water atm in survivablity and dmg. They also have this survivability and dmg for pretty cheap and have pets to raise this even further but i guess depends on what you really want eh?

Once iRO reaches the current jRO update, it's bye bye geneticists. They're kings atm, though.

may or may not ever happen

there are different mechanics, as well as gears specific to each server

also AoE for Gxs are nowhere near as developed as genetics

will be interesting to see how this turns out =)

Ok so i dont really know much about genetics but lets say the minimum vit of MVPs is 30 meaning a genetic at minimum will do 30k BUT genetics have ranged dmg and etc so lets say they will do 100% of this dmg and the actual min they do is around 60k. This means with 193 aspd a GX only needs to crit for 8500 dmg to keep up. Now the MVPs that really matter start gaining more vit like 100 so genetic doing like 200k....to keep up with that GX needs to do 30,000 per crit to keep up. 30k crits at 193 aspd will probably be about the normal dmg for a mid tier GX with dark claw. Not really sure how genetics increase their dmg beyond 100% i have seen a genetic one shot GTB though he only has 80 vit but 200k+ hp.

Remember that dark claw lasts for 5 seconds and have 1 minute reuse delay. To bring the full potential of the skill your gear and build should be of high end and on top of that you need to be confident you are able to kill this MvP or monster within the skill duration.

For the above post, going to throw this here for you that genes are able to do over 1m damage to MvPs with proper gear and buffs. 30k ~200k is unrealistic with the gears and cards iRO offer for the class. I personally haven't seen a gene does this amount of damage to MvPs yet. Always much higher. Unless the gene in your example has awkward build and gears :P.

At the end, in ET it doesn't matter much but when competing in the real field whom who find and hits the MvP first has a bigger chance of winning.

I killed FBH with my GX with AB's buff though.

And, tried Ifrit.

Ifrit is pretty though at the end. I failed this time.

But, I feel it's not impossible to kill without MVP cards like Ktullanux or Thanatos card.

You need really good player skill and need to dodge EQ by Back Slide.

Can do 1-99 on my genes. Can do 1-79 on GX, takes about double the time.

Yeah, GX take a lot longer time than Gen since Gen has ranged AOE skill.

I know Gen can go higher floor.

But, it's still fun to play GX on ET.

I'm not saying anything bad about current / future DPS for GX vs. Genetic. GX does have really good DPS and it will inevitably improve with future updates as well. Also GX outperforms Genetic DPS-wise at least on low vit MVPs for sure.

The main problem is survivability, where GX can't wear a shield for the 40% reduction from Alice Card when attacking. Sure there are things like shield swapping during burst MVP attacks, but that's a huge pain just for the sake of using a GX. There's also the option of using really unconventional builds that have a shield on (CI maybe? melee-ing with a shield on...?) but those really are unconventional for a reason. Reasons being ineffective, low DPS, gimmicky...

Also, RG is not bad for a solo class too, but not as great on agi-up / high flee MVPs. Can wear shield while attacking too.

Can't deny the "fun" factor for GX though and I definitely encourage not restricting people to one class (Genetic). But I would only suggest aiming for around half of ET and not aim for going too high since wasting consumables and time really kills the fun factor. And have at least one Genetic so you can enjoy the higher levels as well.
