WarpPortal is working to help heal children again this year by live streaming with Extra Life! Extra Life is a 24 hour gaming marathon fundraiser for local children’s hospitals. Our hospital of choice is CHOC Children’s Hospital. This is your chance to help children in need through gaming!

 

You can join the WarpPortal team or donate to our team directly! Either way, the money you raise or donate goes towards the overall pool for WarpPortal.  Use the images below to either join our team or Donate! Search WarpPortal to find team members.

Our staff has volunteered to participate in 24 hours of video gaming for a local children’s hospital: CHOC-Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

“When is the last date to donate?”

-The 25th of October. This is a live stream event, so donations will be accepted until the stream ends.

 

-“Can I donate more and claim more rewards?”
Rewards are one per person. While you may choose to donate more, rewards are a one time thank you gift from us for your donation. This event is not intended to be used as a method of purchasing items in game, and the limit on rewards will be monitored for this reason.

 

-“If I join the team, do I get the rewards?”
You will earn the reward tier that corresponds with the amount of donations you can fundraise. Your friends who donate to you will earn the reward based on the donation level they contribute.

 

-“Who can I contact about answering my specific questions?”
ShazamO is the event organizer for this charity again this year. Please contact him directly here. He will respond to questions when he is back in the country.

 

-“Can I send you my IGN info directly after making a donation or post it here?”
Please leave the required information on the donation page you contribute to. We will not be tallying donation specifics outside of Extra Life’s website.

 

-“When will I get my reward?”
After the 25^th of October.

 

-“I want the OCU set, but the rewards list only the costume. Can I donate more to get the hat?”
The reward only includes the costume. The hat is not included. As this is a thank you for donating and not a method to buy in game items, we are not making modifications to the rewards.

“How will you keep people from circumventing the one per person rule?”

Waaaaaait a minute, temp storage is cross-server? So that means I could access all my useless stuff sitting there from whichever server, even the Founder title?

^I got a reply from CM Jello Shaker. Apparently, yes that is the case.

 

I initially thought about it being possibly game-breaking, but considering what can be in the storage: Cash Purchases/Cash Gifts, and Event Prizes, and Daily Prizes, how much can happen? Though I believe I do have a few Lucky Powders from dailies, but I can get that from CS anyway. The title, however~ And possibly, August boxes for La Tomatina? I actually have an +10 instant refine stone in my box, lol. This will probably be discussed in a different thread later so I won't expound too much for now. Besides, it would be off-topic.

 I poked some people in the office and apparently, the prizes will be inserted into an account-wide storage, regardless of server, so we shouldn't have any funky issues about it. If I hear anything else, I'll definitely let you know.

It's a normal costume, so no it is not bound to your account. What you do with it after it is sent out is up to you.

 

While I'm here, I want to reiterate once again (as it has been said many times now in other threads) that the donation awards for Extra Life are one per person. If you donated 50+ you get the thank you gift for 50+ level donations. This is not a short cut to the kafra shop and the items being given out are intended as a thank you for making a charitable donation to children. It is not a method to circumvent or buy items in game. Therefore you will get one reward package based on your donation total.

There were to be given after the stream event.

 

Although, it seems a couple of us haven't received the rewards yet. Just be patient.

It's going to take the staffer overseeing the event a few days to make a list of all the donation info. Once we have that list we will distribute the items. Nothing has been distributed yet. It'll probably be the middle of the week before those start going out at the earliest.
