I went ahead and made a replay of my wanderer for another forum user who was asking for it.

I decided to use Maestro(lvl 125), just your average stringer based build, for yesterdays WoE and melee'ed autocast against a Rune Knight(lvl 150) and killed him succcessfully. I was then bulldozed by the rest of his guild.

 

I saw no real problems using the berserk guitar so long as I used Gloomy Shyness to bring down that Rune Knights FLEE so my HIT thats not affected by my non-existant dex due to said weapon was enough to scratch him to get off the advanced ROFL+ROR set and CD in mouth which led me to victory, not to mention I already harmonized him from a distance so he was considerably weakened as is. It also did help with me spamming WoE white pots(as in the 10% heal kind, not kafra shop) to counteract his Vellum Klatz since he probably realized with his now screwed over stats via harmonize his DB just did jack crap damage to me.

 

It was an interesting thing to do at WoE, autocast melee performers do have an edge since their weapon affinities coincide with a single stat that seems to make  it to a point its retarded broken, Dex. Lets face it, it increases their hit, minimum to maximum damage difference, and is the Str equivalent for their instrument/whip weapons? sounds pretty heck broken to me!

Despite stat dumping dex being a thing, performer damage is underwhelming due to low weapon attack and no melee augmenting skills. Its not like we get overthrust, frenzy, a falcon eyes type damage buff, or advanced katar mastery/edp.

Imo wanderer is better at achieving dps than maestro, but maestro is more proficient in actually dueling due to harmonize.

Sorry for the necro but I am trying to build an autocast wanderer for fun but have a few questions:

- the iRO guide says 193 APSD is plenty achieveable by about Level 125. I can only sort of get there with Gymnastics ribbon without a shield (yes I'm poor, see next point). 

- I understand it gets harder and harder to get to 193, but my Filir Pinion and Bradmium brooch (+2% apsd each) doesn't seem to do anything? 

- Don't want to pay up for +9 HBP (well maybe) for the ASDP bonus but is there possibly a budget version? Also is Cenere card worth slotting into it?

- is the +9 RWH plus malicious shadow set enough to sustain HP while killing (say high TI)? I've tried with my sub-par gears but get owned at the moment.

- Is the advanced ring of resonance worth it? Is it just for the healing proc? Sorry still trying to accumulate crystals before I can try it...

- Should I be slotting my whips (Thanatos) with Hunter Fly card or is there a better card for this build? No chance I can get a +12 carrot whip!

 

Base stats: Level 145, Dex 120, 100 Agi, 80 Vit, 60 Int

 

CD in Mouth, RoFL and RoR (soon to be Advance)

Head: +9 RWH

Mid: Filir's Pinion

Foot: +6 Temp Agi (trying to get a +9, I assume Hawkeye is way better than Speed of Light since we are so close to 193 already)

Armor: Valk

Shield: Valkyrja

 

I've scoured all the old posts (and all of Kaddy's posts and the YouTube video) for information so thank you so much in advance.

Sometimes I forget about that video. One of my past guild members uploaded that and I forget where they stuck it.

I think I was mainly using fallen angel wing for aspd, and ring if flamelord for autocasts. I'd use thanatos over carrot nowadays. It siphons hp and has matk.

I haven't played are out and about halfa year. I am also posting in my smart phone browser so I don't really want to give very long-winded or detailed answers. I did answer some of your simpler questions already. If you want me to give you more just give me some specific questions, one at a time so that I can just get a single short answer over my cell phone whenever I check the Forum.

shame my maestro is critical bow, can reach 8k per hit with eddga, elemental weakness and hawkeye..
guess the melee one is weaker since regular ranged attack has better damage,
