it's probably a silly programming limitation.

When it says you cannot pick an item anymore even if you are not overweight, it means that you have already reached the limit of carrying 100 items in your inventory.

Yeah I wouldn't mind this, plus it's annoying when you're trying to use items(like malangdo cans) and you can't because you reached your item limit capacity, what's with that anyways??!!

It may not be possible to increase inventory space in a strict sense, due to the way it was programmed, but it should be possible to add some kind of secondary inventory à la the carts Merchants and SN classes use.
We already do kinda have a solution to this though. Remote Kafra Storage access via Kafra Cards.

We could argue it's a case of discrimination against overweight characters =P

Could also argue it as a balancing measure. If you want to loot or carry a ton of stuff then party with someone wight a high weight limit or access to a Cart.
Massive weight limits also mean a bunch of WoE characters with a metric -_-ton of consumables that will practically never die or be forced to restock.

If you say it's a balance issue, then why don't they balance that PVM class that can use cart, have a decent to powerful AoE, and a devastating single target skill that is easy to buff. They can also craft their own supplies.

Quite honestly this is just a personal issue since i do endless run by myself a lot and just the constant emptying the inventory is just taking so much time.
By doing this i also accidentally dropped my shield before which is horrible lol. Thanks god i got it back. Lol.
Anyways i guess i'll just keep emptying my inventory.

Once you equip the backpack (or bag... whatever), it will be named and will be non-tradable (unless if it needs to be upgrade to a higher capacity... for a fee of course).
