Anubis.  I hardly see anyone down there when I go to play around with them, except for a few bots (I guess they're there for Healing Staffs).  That makes me a little sad, because for a while there in pre-Renewal Anubis was the monster to hunt for Priests and High Priests.

Can't forget the Goblins and Kobold, the Breeze and the Dustiness(or however you spell it's name)

Evil armor is much better since you can heal yourself!

hunterfly/vanargand/rwh also still work as well, as does potting :U

 

unless the monster uses fire/holy property attacks, i find UD armor suitable in virtually every situation.  Against incarnations I toggle between that and fire armor for magnum break protection.

Vocal and goblins, I remember going face to face with vocal with a +10 VVS fire blade, a +7 guard of gargantua, lots of yellows and a blast clip as 1/1 high novice. It was a battle of the ages...

 

Also miss leveling said novice who was at this point a high swordy in goblins. I miss the days before leveling consisted of 1-15 porings > 15-56 ant Eggs > 56-70 man eater blossoms > 70-150 gramps.

 

Anyone else miss the ygg tree dungeon? with wood golems and stone shooters whch lead up to the best shining plant hunting map ever? would have been nice to keep that in renewal.

logs are a pain to get as a result.  you can hunt wood goblins but it's a lower drop rate and you need to do an entry quest (which ironically requires more logs).

And waiting until specific times of day if you aren't running through it super fast, or have to go somewhere...or can't be bothered to log on. I did it on one of my priests and was really annoyed with the times that it was available due to work and school.

Hmm... yeah. The Goblins seem to be forgotten both pre and after Renewal. They're actually pretty cool. I love them like the Kobold, because they seem like an organized mob. I used to like Orcs too, but I REALLY REALLY HATE them now for reasons I'm not gonna discuss.

Orcs are fun when you gather a mob on a squishy and use a blast clip to kill them.
