I'm not really sure if this has been discussed before since I just found out that kRO and jRO have completely different renewal mechanics (we're using kRO btw).

I was wondering if maybe iRO can also get some ideas from this, especially the Adventurer's Society, which is their Eden Group counterpart, to keep the game fun!

I like RPGs, and the idea of having recurring characters ever since the start of the game, together with separate maps for certain key quests, just sounds so interesting and will definitely keep people amused.

I know that most of their renewal mechanics are purely for Jap players (I know they're hardcore), so I'm not really saying we should get ideas from every single item on that list. :D

NOTE: I'm not marketing jRO. The two types of renewal mechanics are really called jRO and kRO, according to WikiPedia.

Are there people that change to 3rd job and haven't transcended yet (except for baby characters)?

I'd probably think so for newbies who are excited to be 3rd jobs, but I think pretty much most of us already know the disadvantages of that. :P

The best thing about jRO for me is that they kept the old exp system where the exp:hp ratio increases the harder the mob is and they completely removed the level-based exp/drop penalty. So getting a group to survive in a very challenging dungeon is actually rewarding there.

It's good that they blocked it on jRO, though. So nobody can do that mistake.

Well, when I was a newbie in renewal, I never entertained the thought of not transcending and proceeding to 3rd job. :heh:

But lone wolves will have a tough time. :sob:

Yea, me too. I was that of a perfectionist (and still am). :heh:  But other people are like "bahh~ trans... I'll pwn joo all w/ mah non-transed 3rd job!"

There are other people too who are misinformed, so we can't blame them. :D

And other people are just trippin'~ (besides, your vender character can be a Mechanic rather than a BS)

IMO, the jRO restriction makes having a 3rd job a true achievement, just like when we transed before pre-renewal. :)

are you implying that jRO is more hardcore than kRO?  if anything, kRO mechanics make the game much more grindy (which Koreans love).  the exp penalty that players are subject to when they are able to kill much higher level monsters never made sense to me.

LOL, so you're saying that mech vend-slaves are non-trans? (I'm joining the bandwagon~~~! hahaha)

The only good think that i love from jRO is the Exp system, that made pro players, if iRO get that system i will be happy to play again full time (and of course kill the damm Gramps NPC).

Well the thing is, they have to bare with the pre-renewal exp chart from 1-99, and I can remember clearly how bloody that was. It'd take more time for them to reach 3rd job but it will really feel fulfilling.

Lol, I'm not generalizing. But it makes sense to make a mech vend slave without spending so much effort and time on it. :D

1. From level 1-90. You reach 3rd job at level 90 in jRO.

2. Basically permanent 1.5x rates (similar to iRO classic actually).

So not THAT hard to reach 3rd job.

90 for trans, so you still have to go through 1-99 of pre-trans. That's pretty hard for me... it took me months before to reach 99 on my priest (well, that was a long time ago, when people really took months to reach 99, and that was 1x EXP).

And then ye could reach Job Lv50 as 3rd class at around Lv110. About 40 levels remaining for playing at full force!

Also, the Base EXP table is actually much different than pre-renewal, I think:

I feel it actually is much easier than THIS renewal for pre 3rd Class with those tables. If my eyes ain't deceiving me again.
