Map Chat would allow you to communicate with all users on the same map as you. this would make event quests where locating NPCs or various markers/chat bubbles much easier, as well as when a map has been dead branched for other players to alert people of the monsters... it would also make the community feel much smaller since you wouldnt need to be on the same screen or in the same party or guild...

I can see it being abused to hell and back, so while I +1 this idea, I'd like to further suggest a 10-20 (or more) second cooldown per shout.

We already have the Shout Tower in Louyang so the code we'd need for this is already there. Just have the Shout NPC dialogue accessible via the UI. I'm not sure what the syntax for the Aegis script is but it should just be mapannounce "map_name" or somesuch before the input dialogue is called where "map_name" should be replaced by a dynamic variable for whatever map the player is on when they access the dialogue.

And I think you mean "make the community feel much larger" or "more close-knit" or something. Our community is already small and isolationist :v

it would hopefully have the ability to block either the whole chat or block individual people as you can now with the other chat options... and yeah, more close knit is what i was going for....
