So I can only talk from the view of a player who has played S1 and transferred to nova recently but how long do you guys think this game will still be around?

I remember a time when you used to have to fight for mobs. Had to be in the best guilds to get anywhere due to limited mobs and massive player base. There was also 4+ busy servers and SvS was that full it was crazy but fun. Now nova server is a shell. I would say you are lucky if there's 100 people on nova at once and this is a generous estimate.

The older players have felt let down, ignored and beaten with the pay to win stick. Then players are suspended, for lengthy sentencing over an exploit that none of them can figure out. I always thought that bug exploiting was finding a bug and repeatedly causing it to benefit. Surely they would know what they did if this was the case. Those suspended are losing premium, reduction tools, mounts and more. They run a very high risk of leaving the game permanently which will be sad as I consider some friends.

I have played many games like requiem and whilst this game is fun it is one of the slowest to receive a reply from when you need help. There are never any staff in game to interact with. Updates have been ok but nothing mind blowing.

Advertising is non existent. I see no new players. When a new player does start playing they see an empty server and because of megaphones they cannot interact with anyone until they reach a more populated map or do the relevant quests for a limited amount. If funding for requiem was money, a game like this needs to prick the finger of many players to get little trickles of blood, not just slash open the throat of existing players, yank their heads back and watch laughing.

The toxicity is well deserved and I'm not sure it can ever be resolved. The game we all loved is being beaten to death in front of us.

Now back to my original question. When's this game going down? I will be very surprised if it is here this time next year without urgent changes. I mean listening to those who want the best for the game. The players. I am trying to withhold venom as much as possible. I don't want the them vs us mentality that is being created but I also want to see this game survive and at the moment that looks unlikely.

I don't get what ur point is sand because the video won't work on my ipad, and it doesn't matter how far the games come. It's all about where it's going.

ya thats actually my Point.

When the Game came out (where the Vid. is about)

it was never a shining Star...but it had potential AND it was free.

But for the Company it was never seen as a Game only as a Product that has Money to generate and i don`t speak of a fair trade model.

We invest as low we can - to get the most out of it ...now we talking!

Future what is that? only the Money we can get NOW is important.

And don`t think this Game don`t generate a lot of it....for what they invest its hundred times what they get out of it.

Its as easy as that. Why this Game won`t change.

I can only talk from the same perspective. Played off and on since 2008.

But yeah, I pretty much play (Well, hah, play when I’m not unreasonably suspended like I am now. Btw, love you too, Demtd! I miss bugging you in game! Haha) for three reasons:
1) The people/friends I’ve met over the years
2) Nostalgia of what it used to be like at the beginning and hope that it will get better
3) Because I want the game to succeed and try to help out with raids and players getting needed items/help and people to joke with.

I want it succeed to the point that recently I’ve been debating putting up flyers to advertise the game on campus. THAT’S HOW BAD I WANT NEW PEOPLE TO JOIN THE GAME! And that’s still with me being suspended for no reason with a copy/paste response mentioning a game account that’s not even mine. And yes, support seems really slow, at least with this. I haven't had to use them much. But like when stuff is stolen from your account or things are lost in the mail, they've been no help before. Even with screenshots. Friends are definitely leaving the game.

Answering your question:

I’m sure the game will be around by Christmas, but as is, I’d estimate it to take about 2-3 years (I know, it’s generous in many’s opinions.) for the player base to dwindle down so low that they’d be losing revenue just to pay to keep the servers up. They are doing more events, and that helps. In S1, never would have dreamed of so nice and so frequent forge events. (But should a game really need a 60-80% forge to be able to make nice/decent end-game things?)

BUT TO BE FAIR, they’re having to work with a lot of just pure crap, including all of the stuff that’s piled up over the years that make the game so imbalanced. And to truly rebalance the game, they’d have to change things that would then put the players who have paid out the nose for nice gear and maintaining pets/costumes/mounts for years at a disadvantage. That’s HAS to be extremely hard to find a solution that would not put those players at a disadvantage and still help the f2p. Not to mention, the lacking game mechanics of the game or influx of the begging/tolling/toxicity that has built up. That’s definitely going to take time. Sort of how we like to blame all of past presidents's actions on the next. It can't be instantly fixed with a magic wand.

There are a lot of players that want the game to succeed. What I see, though, is that the players and the dev’s aren’t really working together. Blame on both parts in general, true. But also, many of the suggestions made, I don’t see much come from them into the game or much discussion up front of saying in game and on forums, “Hey, we’re debating this, what does the community think or want?” And then taking that feedback and letting us know if it’s going to be used and how possibly, and an estimated time. (Dev’s you know there STILL isn’t honor points on the last boss of the game, right? At least, not since I played over a week ago.) Now, they are working on skills. They have discussed that. I know, “one step at a time.” But the basis of the game IS a Korean grinder (intense grinding, hard to get all the good gear, there's one drop box per boss even if the party is huge, poor overused back story or plot utilized in game,etc.). They have made it much less grinding on experience/leveling, but drops, getting items, poor plot and plot use, seem about the same. Maybe one-two good drops from JS and then you’re bound for a week unless you plan to do it right before maint and then right after. But then they run into the issue of, “Well if everyone gets gear so easy, then they’ll leave since they’ve already maxed level.” Hahah, well, that means that perhaps more content should be added that actually adds to the gaming experience continuously. All we hear are rumors about there being more. More content, more game mechanics, more cut scenes to actually add a better story tone to the game, etc. I think many players would be happy to work with staff if there was more communication and the dev's didn't take things so personally. We know it's not all your fault haha.

But yes, Demtd, there will, indeed, be players still by Christmas. That's when cards come and no one has bag space. More will be on around then probably too. Especially more than online currently.

V clear and good points. I'd like to see more co-operation between staff and the players too. The gamers are passionate because this is our game. To the staff it's a job. I can see they want money. We are wiling to pay when we think it's worth the price.

As for the new player recruitment it can't be left to Facebook or the players. There needs to be new players now. That means advertising. Maybe TV adverts. Put some money aside and advertise the game. It sucks seeing the player base fall and seeing friends leaving. I'd also love to see more cut scenes. Maybe one for bosses.

I want to have confidence in the staff. I want them to show all the doubters they can deliver.

Lol I'm still not sure how I'd advertise it. Good points are uhm, blood (but even sometimes that looks like flying raspberries?), monsters, slaying dragons, slaying a dragon with a purple goatee, some fun new people (to them).

I mean why do you play a game? If the plots is the general "there was some gods who created races and they're fighting monsters now (yay usual korean game background -sarcasm-), the game has no mechanics, you have to grind for all game money, gear, and items, quests are the usual go fetch/kill/escort/talk to/trigger, it's sort of hard to say," HEY PEOPLE! This game is pretty neat because it's sort of different and more interesting and interacting than the usual MMO! It's free AND it's not pay to win!" Which would then get more people to play. Right now it's like, "you're my friend, you wanna come play this game?" I try that with some friends who used to play it a couple years ago, but if I'm not on or if my life gets too busy, there's nothing to keep them playing they've said.

its not about what we want.

look what they give us after nearly a full Year of "new" Developer Team and owing rights...

can`t remember any1 from the Community suggested a Barney Dragon.

What about the 1000 Sides they sent to the Old Developer *hmm?!*

They so proud of it ..Gesus you call that a Crafting System?

its all just Blacksmith Roulette and in strict combination with the Pay-shop System.

Hilarious.

I know this will Disappoint some of you...but its not US to decide which Way this Game goes or how much it stinks to the Heaven.

Ya its never easy to let go.

basically game is on permanent auto-pilot mode with RO2 game developers adding some mobs here and there I think, while Alteris and Helium recycle content that the korean devs didnt finish.

The last straw for alot of people and me, was the recent server divide. Instead of merging both Servers and fixing any PK issues, they did the most stupid thing possible. So now Nova is all but dead with an army of clones that will never see the light of day.

They will close Nova, and when they do and remerge, just think what a utter mess that will be. I logged an alt into Nova, what a dead POS server. Trifi at least had a few people in Alban, but most other places were empty like a Void.

Nova is Deader then Lintra ever was.  I don't see how it can last... Ah well, I may pop back in when...

1. Class Balance happens... (rofl, not holding my breath)

2. They finally add in the Honor Seller. (I wont pay for this game anymore)

3. Merge servers.... Fix any issues

So in other words..... Prob never...

Look on the bright side Crftwise, when we said that making the game PK only would kill the game we were right. Its pretty dead right now.

i have played nova server for almost 2 years now and played SEA server. Before the server transfer event, you can still see ppl running around PKing, raiding, farming. We still have a TBF with 20-20 on both teams. After the server transfer event SVS in nova team, your lucky if u get 15ppl in your side, mostly 5 and under geared..I should suggest that both server should get merge and designate a map that PK is allowed (ofc for those who sit around and do nothing just to PK)..Lower map until triffi map PK should not be allowed..

ReQQuiem somehow has proven particularly robust is surviving through the years, yes of course, you could argue in a "zombie state", and that would be right.

My guess is, it will be around for quite some time, as long as there are even a few stubborn people (hopelessly stupid? terminally addicted? whatever...) that will spend enough dosh, even during "events". to keep it afloat (well... afloat might be an euphemism).

Also, it is my guess, that ReQQ's expenses are now minimal, so whatever little revenue can still keep the plug in place. For how long, this is anyone's guess, there might come a day that even the bare minimum will be just to much for anyone to be arsed to care.

We keep dreaming this and that just can happen, and the situation would change. Hope is a good thing, even if the very last thing a dying person has to cling upon. Who knows, maybe that wild hope means something in the end, but most likely the dying person will pass away instead.

Well all I can hope is that when/if servers are merged again it goes smoothly. Honour transferred, items transferred. If pk is active maybe let us turn it off in settings the same way you can with costumes being visible BUT put a 24 hour time restriction or something in place so it can't be abused like the shields

Won't happen demtd, it will be a gigantic cluster -_- of epic proportions. People will lose gear, toons, honor...pretty much the biggest disaster in requiem. and most likely it won't survive it. Betting on after Christmas event. Most likely mid Feb of next year. That's ofc completely depending on skill changes that have been promised for the last year.

Yeah think everyone's worried about those. No matter what's done there will always be a class that kicks everyone butt in pvp and pk. Right now everyone has the build they like without having to buy resets.

So they "wiped" valdes server & players, just to replace it with a new non populated whatsoever one, is beyond my understandings.

Here is an idea:

Transfer all the triggerhappy (Trifri/PK) players to Nova,

Make them ragequit,

Job done!

Your logic is nova is empty and triffi has players because of PK? Not sure I understand your PVE logic. PK server is populated and PVE server is dead. Everyone was offered a free move. Most chose to stay triffi and 80% of nova chose to move to triffi the PK server. Sir are you an Obama supporter? I've heard this bizarre logic before.
