As the title states, I need help on my sura build. I'm 112/23. I had a Sky Blow build but I recently reset stats and skills to go with a Rampage Blaster build, thinking that it would make life easier, it did not.

My current stats are:

str 90

agi 1

vit 71 - currently trying to get this to maybe 80-90 before increasing int/str

int 60

dex 80

luk 20

And my current equips are:

+4 RWH

Robo Eye

+4 Orleans Gown (Pasana) - was lvling in nogg and using 2 hell poodles so cant phen

+5 Carga (2 x Hunter Fly)

+4 Nidhoggur's (Raydric)

Variants

2 x Ring (Hell Poodle) - only healing equip I could afford

 and various racial reduc Stone Bucklers

As for my skills, I have 3 Rampage Blast and 8 Rising Dragon (currently working on maxing these 2), and rest are prereqs.

Before resetting, I could solo nogg (with some difficulty and a lot of meat), and now, I could barely survive a small mob. I'm thinking that this is because RB and RD arent high enough yet so I cant 1 shot mobs (~12k dmg). Now I'm stuck in mid TI until I can get enough job lvls to 1 shot nogg mobs(probably 1 or 2 more job levels should do it).

Now, questions:

1. As a leveling build, is Rampage Blaster the way to go? Or should I go with Tiger Cannon(or go back to Sky Blow)? I'd like to not have to reset again as much as possible though.

2. Any equip recommendations? iRO wiki has crappy recommended equips section for sura -_-. I got equipment ideas from a couple forum posts here so anything at all to improve my current equips? I dont have deep pockets though so no god equips or overupgraded stuffs, I'm thinking of getting Diab Robe (peco/porcellio) + Diab Ring (phen). Also thinking about getting(or making, whichever would be cheaper for me) an Erde (2 x Archer Skel?) with EA enchants to boost RB damage. What do you think?

3. And any other leveling tips and tricks you could share with me?

I really hope you could help me with these.

Thanks!

RB is only great when you can actually 1-shot the mob (or nearly 1-shot, finishing with either windmill or earth shaker (requires GT-gain for ES since it needs sphere))

if you want to try to avoid resetting back to skyblow until you can switch to tiger cannon (ideally at job 40~, but can still get it a bit earlier), you can RB a mob, snap away to gather other mobs, snap back where you left the original mob, RB the new+original mob together, (hopefully) killing the original this time; repeat for the new mob; take about ~10-sec gathering mob in between RB cooldown - though how well this works depends on monster spawn (the more spawn the more efficient); switch to TC once you are able to

get witch's pumpkin hat + alarm mask;

you can still default RWH, and switch the WPH and pot w/ pumpkins when HP goes low;

i would not really invest in a weap for RB; i did have 2x archer skel carga but used it mainly w/ LR when it was still awesome;

try to work on a glorious suit for TC damage;

I will definitely try that mobbing technique if it would work for me (or if I could even pull it off in the first place :D).

WPH + alarm mask is already on my wishlist. Kinda hoping it would be in a random box this halloween in hopes of getting it cheaper :D

About the weapon, I only thought of it because I thought it would help me to get the damage to 1-shot mobs. I guess I'll wait until I max RB and RD to see if I would deal enough damage before looking for weapons.

Just the suit or the whole set? I've always thought battleground equips are only good for pvp, care to explain how it would help with the leveling phase? Sorry, I've never stepped foot inside battlegrounds cause I'm not into pvp so I know next to nothing about anything related to it.

Thanks again for your response!

just keep in mind, straying too much means the mobs will scatter around since there is no player/target to chase;

so as long as you kite the mobs around and RBing whenever you get the chance (and on the largest concentration of mobs), it should be fine;

its easy to herd/kite/pile-up mobs as shura due to snap;

also, snap to a relatively clear spot before zen/power-absorb/buffs/etc so you take less damage (and use less pots) overall;

about RB weapon/damage, 2xAS EA erde does yield a bit more (2-3k+, so it can be an OK investment if you are close to 1-shotting, according to this post) than 2xAS carga;

base level also improves RB damage (though high base level usually means high job level; in that case it may be time to switch to TC)

the glorious suit is mainly for leveling with TC due to the +20% mHP; the whole glorious set is not needed (it was a PvP/WoE set until newer gears came along; currently PvP/WoE gears are focused on switching between WoE/siege/reduc sets and damage maximizing gears);

speaking of glorious gears that you may want to get sometime, glorious morning star (mace) is still the best PvP/WoE/anti-demi-human-race damage gear so far;

also, glorious ring is a nice elemental reduc oriented gear (though kafra blossom cards are the better version since its debut, but more expensive of course)

besides battlegrounds, you can get KvM badges via eden merit badge exchange (EMB from TI, OPB trade) and seal quests (can use reset stone to redo the quests on a character)

I 150'd my sura with rampage blast. I was like 101/25 when i started though due to turn ins. Do not bother rampage blast leveling without windmill it's way too annoying. Windmill stuns mobs at very, very high rate once you're a few levels higher than the mob. I would just use double hunterfly carga and rideword hat if you have it available and you just need a few more jobs to max RB and RD and then I think nogg will be fine. Once you can safely 1 shot there you can stay there until 125, it takes basically no consumables and is ridiculously easy by then. If you can get a hodremlin shield that might be worthwhile as a good shield for mixed maps.

RD-10, TC-6, PA is job 35 (39 if you want max TC)

you can get TC a bit earlier (though damage won't be optimal) sacrificing some points from RD (which also means less %SP regain per PA) in the meantime (wouldn't recommend unless you can make it work efficiently on the map you're currently leveling on complemented by gears/supplies)

you can; though may turn out to be a game of patience;

of course the better the gears (or having key gears like WPH) does make things easier;

once you get WPH, you could try SB in nameless with a nemesis mace, demon/undead reducs, until job 35

if you obtain kvm mace (as high upgrade level as you can reasonably get); biolabs-2 leveling becomes viable with windmill/RB/ES;

before TI came, 150ed my 1st shura that way, complemented by near-endless LRs with GT-gain (but that was before LR nerf)

(as i got more job levels, GT-convert did help ensure 1-shots on the bio2s); note, there will be at least 1 bio2 monster that will heavily resist your attacks depending on your endow

in the meantime, you may want to do RB leveling in nogg like Viri said (or try SBing there and see how it goes if you haven't yet)

yes i'm leveling in nogg right now with SB. from what i've read it should be possible to stay there until job 35? (along with turn ins and such)

yes, nogg is fine; just gets slower later on;

just dump exp to job if you do TI too;

as mid-level shura, the only other place i went to level is juperos 1 w/ rampage; (SB is bad there due to 2-range venatu and 5-range dimik)

nogg is probably better though - narrower map space, spawns more concentrated;

in juperos, usually have to snap around to gather a mob
