Hi

I just started playing ragnarok on the renewal server and I'm creating an FS Priest, I'm wondering in which maps it would be easier to find parties and which level range would i need to be so that they would accept me...

Thanks!

As someone who plays FS, I would not suggest playing FS as a first character as it is quite costly to maintain. I would suggest killing-oriented chars to make money before making an FS.

Before anything else, you should be able to maintain a decent source of income for purchasing things:

 - Collect as much stuff when you kill monsters and sell them. Junk -> sell to NPCs, valuables -> sell to people basically. You can check Ragial for things that sell in the player market.

-- I suggest you make a merchant for vending to players/selling to NPC purposes. With a merchant char, you can buy stuff from NPCs at a discount and sell junk to them at an increased price via a skill.

Other people might have a different/less costly approach to this but my reasoning is that it is only at the 70++ levels do you see a lot people partying. At the lower levels, most people would prefer to solo (but some people do party at lower levels, so its not impossible.)

Though to answer your question on FS levelling, I am assuming you are totally new to the game so I will try to break down my approach into steps:

Click here for a levelling spots guide.

1.) Start off as a pre-trans (this means Job 10 Novice ->Job 40++ Acolyte -> 99/50 Priest)

 - Get as much AGI, STR and DEX (Agi = attack speed, Str = hitting damage, Dex = hit %) as you can while levelling along and remember to put some points in VIT for survivability as well.

 - Starting this way gives you more opportunities to level up like non-FS classes. If you start as FS in stats immediately, it will be a bit hard and time-consuming as there are not many mobs that Acolytes can kill with supportive skills (Heal).

 - You do not have to get to Job level 50 as an Acolyte before changing to Priest, you can opt to job change immediately at job 40 but it comes down to preference really.

 - At around base lvl 70 (Priest), you can do Turn-ins by talking to Gramps in the Eden Group or do board quests in Juno. You should be level 99/50 in no time.

At this point I guess you would have already gotten a feel for the game and perhaps made some acquaintances along the way.

2.) Once you are a lvl 99/50 Priest, Transcending is the way to go -> Click here for more info.

-This requires 1 Magical Stone and 1,285,000 zeny.

-You can make a Magical Stone by giving 8 Eden Merit Badges to Merry Badger in the Eden group, you can get two badges every 23 hours if you do both missions that Gramps offer for your level range.

3.) Repeat the levelling process (Job 10 High Novice -> Job 50 Acolyte -> 99/70 High Priest)

 - Make sure you make it to Job level 50 as a High Acolyte before becoming a High Priest.

 - This way you get the maximum number of skill points in the Acolyte tree before moving on to the next job.

 - (A step-by-step guide for transcending can also be found here)

4.) When you're base 69 (You are most likely going to be a High Priest by then)

 - Get a status reset in Payon and get FS stats instead of battle stats.

 - This would cost you around 2 or 3 (I forgot, sorry D: ) Magical Stones.

 - Get to base 70 and go back into TI or board quests -> this is where you start playing as FS.

5.) At 99/50 as High Priest, you can do the Archbishop quest.

 - From here on you should already have made some acquaintances from TI/elsewhere and you've found people to party with on a regular basis.

You can also experiment with different skill builds as long as you are below base level 100. There is a free skill resetter just a little to the north of the Tool Shop in Prontera. Do not be afraid to experiment with which skills to get as long as you are still below 100, unlimited skill resets (yay)

My method is a costly yet for me, the most efficient way to level an FS class than just sticking to using Heal on undead mobs (which there aren't a lot of that span different levels, sadly).

Shoot me a PM if you need help :) Cheers and welcome to the game!

Hi! It's rare to find parties outside the Eden turn-in (TI) maps these days (so much sad), so I'd definitely recommend that you do Gramps' quests until level 150. If you're unfamiliar with Gramps, look for Eden teleporter NPCs near Kafras and/or respawn points--the Gramps NPC is inside Eden. Gramps' quests begin at level 70. For the low-TI map, look for parties inside the map itself. Fir mid- or high-level TI, you'll usually find party-recruiters inside Eden near the stairs. It shouldn't be hard for you to join parties since priest characters are highly in demand. Before level 70, you can sign up for quests from bounty boards found inside Eden and in main cities. Good luck and have fun! If someday you want to earn money, team up with an MVP killer and do regular MVP hunts, as well as join Endless Tower parties. That's how I got started. Cheers!
