CR5 for leveling then Neuralize it when you are job50.
CL cannot leveling because of Bug and high delay. ES cannot leveling because of earth element is limit to leveling and very high cooldown. JF cannot leveling because of very low damage.
I am building TV, too. My choice is "Say no RS".
I am deciding to play TV+Comet or TV+FS.
Because of very large amount of Shadow element monster (25% with Fire/Water/Earth/Wind/Ghost damage), Comet is needed.
Those are some good points, but having no Recognize Spell is a disaster of any build if you are end-game with highly upgraded staffs. CrR5 is needed for instance runs/TI's if you want to make some money off of Eden Badges/Reset stones.
CL 5 would be OK if not for the downright atrocious position lag and not having enough damage to 1 shot frozen monsters except the first amped hit.
Earthstrain has a 10 (ten!!!) second skill Cooldown that makes it very limited in uses.
So that leaves CrR5. I guess you could sacrifice 1 point down to CrR4, to get Radius 2 or MoA, but it just looks bad, even though you would only be losing 300% in damage.
My main focus is getting an empowered staff of any kind. That would require Hazy forest runs. Try a hazy run without crimson rock.....I dare you.
