I would like to suggest that Classic has slotted mids made more freely available either more regularly in lucky boxes, the quest made easier or put back into old purple boxes(this will add economic value to mvping) as Slotted mids are extremely important in playing competitively, it's also necessary for newer players to the server to be able to realistically obtain them. The same thing applies to well chewed pencils.

They are not a choice. They are a necessity.

Also: The same thing applies with high powered hats that are made available on a limited basis through lucky boxes. Some of these hats are really strong and if they don't come back within a certain amount of time you are causing a huge equipment disparity between players that cannot be closed through gameplay. Ragnarok Classic might be the only game I know that releases weaker equipment as the game goes on, leaving the legacy gear to be strongest.

As new players come to the server, they need to be able to obtain these equipments realistically compete or they will leave.

Some of the equipment is listed here (please post any I miss)

  • Moon Rabbit Hat
  • Skull Cap
  • Evil Marching Hat
  • Vintage Orc Helm
  • Slotted mid anything
  • Well chewed pencil
  • Little Feather Hat
  • Yellow Ribbon

Why not have us make a headgear ideas then give a quest to get them.

Like how the Wcp was made.

There would be 0 incentive in buying future boxes. They have to keep people reaching for these items and the scarcity keeps it profitable.

Not re-introducing them at all, I agree, is a bad practice. However, over saturation is an even bigger problem.

Vanity is also a huge issue with a lot of players. They want something useful and cute or nothing at all.

I dunno why they don't put in aesthetic equipments in future boxes (cute versions of ugly functional hats), or time limited effects on hats rather than selling direct power on a limited basis.

Classic needs people to PLAY. The server feels dead in PVM. Give us reasons. Please.

Something like adding some of these hats (in a rotational basis if needed) to old purple boxes would keep them very rare, maintain their kshop value, bring value to MVPing, help the economy.

Likewise, we could have quests that create these gears effects on a time limited basis (rental style) so that buying the full version is still desirable, but newer players can look into competing.

What about coupons to create the other hats too?

Some feathers and some ingame hat (bunny band maybe) and some magic (invent items to hunt here) some ores and a coupon = a chance to create a moon bunny hat?

Why not make a rental hat for hunt gsb but make it so only bosses make it work. I'm sure someones going to say not going to work but were would you go that not got boss types besides hard end game places you need instant respawn or your wasting time.

They could also put in a weekly quest that provides temporary account bound items for completing something like Endless Tower.

This would encourage party play too. Idk, there's a lot of ways to implement something without diminishing the profitability of the Kafra shop.

I've never completed endless tower, T-T ever.  (i know, i suck.)

Making items only available for the established/elite will push newer players out, no one will take an under geared person to ET. Hell i have gear and struggle but mostly due to time zone >_>

You could form your own group or get your guild to help you out.

Well that was my point, to promote party play. A guild should be willing to help their members.

The problem is myzery, "help" and "carry" aren't interchangeable

In Valhalla for example a lot of people want to be able to earn their own things (which I appreciate because I do not want to carry 40+ people or be responsible for their gearing. There's too much else to do.)

Its not a guilds job to hold hands, help? yes to a point. I don't expect them to change their ET time just to suit my time zone when most of the guild is across the ocean 5-8hrs behind me.

If i knew more people i probably would lead an ET but anyone i do know is unavailable or saved, stupid England! :c

TBH, I wouldn't join a guild if there was no benefit from joining it. The guild should never ever have to put in more effort into somebody's character then that individual is willing to put in. That being said there should be some sort of benefit from joining a guild even if it is just meeting people and potential party play. I might be biased since I have never asked for a guild leech (I always bought mine or did them myself). In my opinion, it should be a guilds goal to help include people into guild activities and party play. It is up to the new individual to take the initiative to show that they are willing to put forth effort and join in the fun!

At topic, I agree with Myz. Over saturation would be a problem for me. They would have to be very very careful in how they put certain items back in game.

I'm not saying for anyone to be "carried".

If there was incentive to make the guild stronger as a whole, then I don't understand why it couldn't be done.

People could still do their own monetary runs. I guess I'm downplaying the difficulty a bit for Classic ET, but it was just an idea.

Doesn't have to ET exactly, but something that encourages and rewards a guild working together.

If I enjoy being in a guild, I want to help out.

Back when I used to do Thors on Classic, I leeched a lot of people just because I wanted to, not because they asked

unfortunately there's a matter of scale.

Sometimes its' not feasible or reasonable to do ET once  a week (especially when established players go by themselves) - you're talking about the one or two individuals who run a guild having to do multiple runs over and over to gear newer players.  Established players will rather use their time in a group of 3 or 4, they won't help out.  These new players won't even be able to contribute much to those ET runs since they aren't geared anyway.

I'd like everyone to step back and pretend they are new to the server, please.

Like I said, it doesn't have to be ET.

They GMs could probably implement something like Overlook from Renewal.

I would like to see things that individuals can work on for their own sense of accomplishedness.

then again I'm an overworked stressed guildleader so I'm biased. I already have too much to do, I barely get a sniff of PVM for myself, or time to help the noobs. This would be something nice to work into that whole concept of aligning multiple players goals.

Still an issue, new players to the server asking me how they can get slotted mids so they can compete.
