Sometimes it's all about luck. Don't be too negative about life. Most people play fair, most people don't cheat, and for sure MOST iRO PEOPLE DON'T VISIT THE FORUMS.
Oh wow, this motivates me to hunt for OCAs.
But I'm lazy, so meh~ (and I hate Elders)

With DR, 54-55% vs 60% won't make a difference in almost any situation.DR HBP is best tanking garment with 90 vit, not just for GX

I hope you realize the difference between 54% and 60% is 15% more damage from monsters. That can make a difference.With DR, 54-55% vs 60% won't make a difference in almost any situation.
Also when you stack, say a 7% immune shield with a 5% 3d glasses, the change of 38% down to 32%. Not having that 5% neutral means almost 19% more damage. It gets worse when you stack more.

That is true, but in a "real life" situation there aren't many situations people will wear full neutral resist gear (3D glasses, immune shield, palace guard, etc. to get 80%+). Maybe only things like Ifrit and/or Valk. But when people are aiming to solo those they probably have enough money to buy several DRs and full custom gears for each MVP.
I stack those neutral resists (and even shadow one!) On my bishops and I can tank better than rune knights. I takr 50 damage from enemies they take 350 from. It doesn't matter whose hp pool is 2x bigger when you take 1/7 the damage.

You can always reset your faw. I'm lazy and have like 8 +9 FAWs XD

Imagine a monster that hits for 3.5k
30% racial shield -> 2500
Deviling FAW (54%) -> 1150
Painkiller -> 150
vs
30% racial shield -> 2500
Deviling HBP -> 1000
Painkiller -> 1
That measly 6% reduction reduced the damage by 99.3%

The difference can be even more ridiculous, if you're using a gen with painkiller.

Speaking of Painkiller, what does it exactly do (sorry I'm at work I can't view gaming sites lol)? I remember my Alchemist taking 1 dmg from anything when some guy's homunculus cast Painkiller on me.

Flat damage reduction, I believe 800 at first? 1000 when max level? So, amazing for tanking small attacks like physical melee's - not so great versus skills that do way more than 1k damage.
I only have dieter's, will have a Sera next week when loyalty event comes up XD (lazy)

I see... at that time I thought its effect was to make ANY damage 1. That'd be pretty cool and OP (and ridiculous).

Better than nadda, dieter needs to have you take more than 10k damage to match painkiller.
If you do aimistr sera have fun >_>

By the way this is a noob question since I have never bothered to re-enchant mine, but if I wanted to put a different enchant on my +9 DR FAW, there is no risk to the card or upgrades, right?

Assuming (damage * neutral reducts * race shield * like 30% armor def) - 150 soft def:
(1500 * 0.46 * 0.7 * 0.7) - 150 = 188 damage
Vs
(1500 * 0.4 * 0.7 * 0.7) - 150 = 144 damage
That's a 30% damage spike from not having that 6% neutral.

Just roll like I do and wear DR + Golden Thief Bug Shield
I went with +9 FAW because I only use my DR to kill MvP's on my genetic. I went for a little more damage over reduction with EA10 enchant. I usually use my sura to tank so I didn't need the extra reduction.
Definitely get the elemental armors. You will need a immune garment to switch to on certain MvP's regardless. You try Stormy or Ktull with DR, elemental armor is not going to be enough to save you. I use my DR FAW or switch out to a +9 immune HBP depending on the situation.
