Can someone please explain what MP Consumption does.  i have always wondered and now that i am planning on making a mage and cleric i guess i kinda need to know now.

% Mp consumption lowers the amount of MP you need when using a skill.

 

For example, mana shield originally uses 50% of your current MP.

With 50% MP consumption you only have to use 25% of your current MP to activate this skill.

That only applies to regular skills, mana shield has a different rule for MP consumption, even though you got it correct by mistake. But the MP consumption % passive are halved when it comes to mana shield, 10% MP consumption passive is only equivalent to 5% MP consumption reduced upon casting mana shield.
