if you trade with someone? There is this person in TI who out of nowhere traded me a horse mask. i thought he was in my party so i ok-d the trade, and i thought to myself, hey free costume so i clicked ok. Then she ask for it back and i gave it to her because she said it was a mistake. After a few minutes it hit me, is this a new way to get your info or something? or am i just being paranoid?

Umm, no? If that were the case wouldn't you have been worried about when you accepted a party invite before that?

They probably thought you looked like their friend or something that they wanted to lend it to. *shrug*

People typically don't get hacked on RO.  They get their accounts compromised because they aren't careful and click/download things they aren't supposed to or give their login information to phishing sites or other players.

Are you going to tell me that the internet is a safe and secure place? Do you have privacy in the internet? Is that spreading false rumors? Fools, tools and ghouls.

 

You have privacy as long as you maintain it as an individual responsibility.

 

And don't act like saying:

 

"Your own guild leaders can hack you if they wanted to and they knew how to. GMs or WP can also hack you too if they wish to."

 

...isn't something that's appropriate to say here.

It is not quite exactly as what I have typed, but close enough. I said only "if they "wanted" to and if they "knew" how to. If they do not know how to or if they do not want to, then what seems to be the problem? You can only maintain your privacy for a limited time. Privacy does not last forever you know, and I doubt someone will maintain it for that long. Remember, if you think you are a hotshot IT tech ACE - there will always be someone better than you. Have you ever been disconnected purposely while playing on the server from someone who is not a GM, CM or whatever? Disconnected, debuffed, teleported, been messed with your gears equipped off instead of being equipped on? Someone might think only a GM has such powers, but a few ordinary players know something they should not and abuse it with other players. Now I know why a lot of vendors get disconnected in Prontera now.
