I think it would be a good idea to implement the dueling command on certain maps. I think certain cities where it is known to not have a high population of venders and avaialbe space could allow dueling. Perhaps this would even stimulate a new market and social activity within the game; dueling towns with a dueling market following. In general dueling would increase the interactive element of the gameplay between other characters and as well perhaps stimulate the creation of a new genre of builds, markets, gearing, and strategy. Briefly I will explain too why the dueling system will be different and more enjoyable then pvp. Pvp should still exist but the dueling system allows more control between players and the availabillity to pvp whereever in most instances. As well pvp can at times be under populated and there can be varying opinions on the enjoyabillity when players commit random kills versus none random kills. RO could even adapt a wage system within the duels where a small command box would pop up and prompt the users to agree upon certain condidtions before they start the duel. The idea too of duel orientated items would entice players to duel more, give out a wieghtless accessory that counts the number of duels a person won and gives them a designated title. If the show equipment box is checked players can see what a great dueler you have become.

Pvp will never work right now, that is a bold opinion, but I think it is true. The ratio between the best geared playe pvping versus the worse geared player pvping is far too steep. The pvp zones either need to be straified by level, class, or some balancing distinction. I think though the dueling system would be a optimum method of adding new gameplay and many people would probably enjoy it.

I believe it is programmable to have something like, @request duel "player name", then it prompts the player, the player can then reply @accept or @deny, and just give the command a cool down to avoid spammabillity. That would be a simple example of executing this but it would be nice to create a command prompt or option when you right-click instead.
