Hi, I'm new and I want to play in the "renewal" RO but it won't let me connect, it's always Failed to connect but I can connect to the classic one. How can I play in the Renewal? What should I do?

I am new as well.... I wonder what's the difference between pre-renewal and renewal?
And the classic loki is pre renewal or renewal? Thanks

classic loki is pre-renewal, chaos is renewal.  classic doesn't have third classes or most of the new world content and has a different experience scale.  the cash shop isn't imba on classic (if at all).

Classic (prerenewal) is Ragnarok before 3rd class was introduced.  With 3rd class came a lot of changes to the game mechanics and monsters.  They are almost like two separate games at this point.  Renewal gets updated regularly by the developers where as Classic is our own server and doesn't get the same updates as Renewal. (but they still do get new content). 

 

If you aren't sure which to play I do suggest trying both.  You will notice some differences immediately but give it some time before you choose.

If you're new to RO, I recommend renewal; it's much more new-player friendly (though it's also a more cash-shoppy). 

 

Pre-renewal mechanics are really unforgiving.
