Try the following:
- Configure File Explorer/Windows Explorer to show system files.
- Delete the file PatchClient\Patcher\Thumbs.db from your client installation folder.

Did you check the correct folder and also enable the viewing of hidden files/folders.

Did you enable the visibility of both hidden files and system files?

I have the same problem. I enabled the visibility of the hidden files in windows 10. Then I deleted the thumbs file from the patch client folder.
In the patcher folder I didnt find the Thumbs.db (as showed above) but instead of that i found twitch.bmp. Why can't I find the thumbs.db in the patcher folder??
thanks for helping me! greetz

hello VModCinnamon,
thanks for your quick reaction. Yes I know its an old thread but since I keep getting the "Failed to Write file issue I checked the forums and found the following answer on this problem:

Try the following:
- Configure File Explorer/Windows Explorer to show system files.
- Delete the file PatchClient\Patcher\Thumbs.db from your client installation folder.
So I tried this and I only found thumbs in patch client folder and deleted it. I didnt find thumbs in patcher folder as it was supposed to be (as shown in screenshot
in previous post). As said I only found twitch.bmp on the spot where should be Thumbs.db as shown in screenshot in previous post.
The 'fail to write" error is still there. What should I do??
thanks for your help!!!

Can you take a screenshot of the error please? Upload the screenshot to Imgur or TinyPic and link it here.
Might as well, try to reboot your system just in case.

From the screenshot, there is an active RO client in the background. You must close every active RO client when patching, please try that.
