Hi,

Is using 2 chars allowed in dungeons ? If so, then under what circumstances is it allowed ? Have come across some who do it and give crappy reasons to justify their actions. Would appreciate some accurate clarification on this matter to avoid any misunderstandings that

might arise among players during a dungeon run. Thank you.

On my opinion, its ok to use 2 chars in dungeons as long as they helping the group to finish it. Like me I'm using cleric and raider in dungeon. My cleric is buffing/healing and my raider is helping in opening the gates and killing sub boss and boss in HOO.

Situation: You join a SOD with your cleric. There are already 4 more people there: Cleric, Knight and Bourgeois/ Champ.

Seeing that there's no slower and the Knight is dualing with his cleric. He only buffed his knight (not others) and left the cleric at the base, soloed his way through xtals. Now that still sounds pretty fine as there's someone willing to tank.

You suggest his leaving the cleric in order to invite a slower (champ/ raider) and he refuse:

"I need cleric for support": Alright, you only buff you knight.

"I need high buffs": Well what do you say when you have +40 and I have +60?

"I don't need slower, I can tank": Sorry bro, not everyone has much free time, and they can barely tank. Plus, you don't use your cleric to support them.

"I'm here to earn valor." Good point, everyone does.

Well unacceptable reasons to defense himself. The dungeon ends up taking way to long, way too much death and anger to finish.

Although I could have been better if it hadn't been for his selfishness.

-------------------------------One of those situation when I don't like dualing people--------------------------------

I am ok with these kind of situations.

*4 People Join The Dungeon*

Someone in group - We don't have a cleric!

Another person in the group - I can bring my cleric!

But I would rather to not have a dual clients players in dungeons, but with this situation I am ok with it.

Hi all,

Thanks vm for taking the time to reply. So it is alright to bring in a cleric to buff only(not necessarily heal during dg) and leave the char at base ?

I think the use of dual characters in dungeons in only 1 computer is somehow related to botting if and only if the user meet the conditions. please see this page about bottling http://forums.warppo...02-botting-faq/

and to the OP,

Genesis gave his statement before about the use of multi clients in game arena(dungeons or pvp) and I think, he already overlooked it, it might be of loads of works hehe, please see this post about the use of multi clients in game arena(dungeons or pvp) http://forums.warppo...ng-in-dungeons/

Genesis said:

"While there are no plans to tighten up IP restrictions on dungeons, we are working towards preventing multiple clients on the same computer from being able to play Game Arena games (dungeon or PvP), so that we can we relax the IP restrictions in PvP games to allow members of the same household to play together.

Since we're still at early stages of R&D on how this can be accomplished, there is no estimated date for when this change will take place."

if Genesis could read this then maybe the restriction of the use of multi client in game arena (dungeons or pvp) will be implemented as soon as possible.

I think the reason why entering with 2 chars from the same IP is allowed because we have people living together.
There is the option to 'vote kick' tho, I believe you have to be 3 people who agree tho.

Sometimes it's good sometimes it's bad.

Not to off the topic. Many people use un acceptable reasons to defense themselves. Unless they can fulfill their role on both char to a certain extent, they should not dual client, make everything worse.

My thumb rule is, if people notice you are dualing, you shouldn't be dualing.

  • well i think so long your dg mates are okey with the use of 2 chars its fine for me. doesn't matter if one of those chars stay on base or not but the group must agree if they can notice what you're doing.
  • also its fine if you can move both chars at same time, so with using alt tab very smart. so as example cleric and a fighter char, you're able to heal and fight without any problem. only people who know both your chars should notice it but if they don't know they shouldn't to be able to notice it in this condition.

so in short they should agree with it or not even noticing that you are doing it cuz you're very good in using alt tab.

as little note: myself i only dual in dg with raider/cleric if the team needs a cleric and they want me to dual and are okey with me trying to or if they are okey with one char being on base. or if the team knows i will dual cuz i need points badly and they also know that i can handle it very well. but i rarely do it so if i do you prob wont notice and if you do and dislike it well then one of my chars gets unlucky cuz what is the point of doing a dg and the fun gets ruined by a fight. but it never happened that the team disliked it. if i did it the team included me decided someone needed to dual to have a cleric with us for support.

so again be good at it or the team must agree or just don't. :excl:

actually i can say whomp is right :p_hi: :p_idea:

I do it, mostly when I want the added DPS or something. Like when I want a stat buffer+slow with my champ or a katar for constant dps + my main pvm chars. I know a few who do cleric + knight.

Some of my combination.
Cleric + bourg/ dual raider/ knight.
Active on both char :)
This resulted from the fact that, random groups, random clerics are likely unreliable.

I dunno, I generally try not to dual (cause I suck at it), but if I really have to I bring in my cleric.

Hi Filipito,

First and foremost you are soooo cute :) That is a compliment :) But why do u call me Nura-chan ?

I raised this topic because I see many ppl dualling during dg rounds. I dont dual myself. if i go in with my cleric and see that there is already another FS cleric present, i will withdraw my cleric and will try go in with my duals and vice versa. i will normally see what is more beneficial for the group as a whole, not just what is beneficial for my char. i usually carry buff potions and hp&mp pots with all my non cleric chars. So its really not a problem for me if there is a cleric present or not. But sadly some don't even want to move without a
cleric.

I know that for dg, only 2 chars max are allowed per IP address. i am one of those people that play rose with my family. i normally do dg rounds with my husband. And we don't dual or bot. Have never and never will :)

Not to off the topic. Many people use un acceptable reasons to defense themselves. Unless they can fulfill their role on both char to a certain extent, they should not dual client, make everything worse.

Totally agreed. Most give crappy reasons to justify dualling which prompted me to raise up this topic here. Although some say they are active on both chars, to what extent would that be ? Never a 100% on either char. Now that is just a waste of time for the rest. Because the rest of the active members are doing and completing the dg for someone who isn't contributing to their max extent as they should.

Dualing is allowed, I have done dungeons where me and a friend would use two chars each and we run dungeons faster than normal. Fastest ever recorded was (for me) a 7 minute run in HoO :)
