It's just a random thought i figured would be nice to chat about with the community, my mind often wanders off a lot while homun lvling at od2~

If i could create my own homunculus i would make it a loyal fully defensive type of homunculus, one that would put the devotion for its master as first priority once the mutual respect between both of them had been established. I've thought of several ways it could look like, sadly i don't have the skills to show you guys in detail with a drawing so i'll try to describe it in the best way i can.

Of the many forms i've imagined for it i think the one i like most is the "Knight" form, you can imagine it with the body alike a royal guard's shield, with a medieval knight's helmet covering its head and a lance going through its chest, its hands always holding the lance as in agony but showing no sign of suffering due to the helm covering its face and finally small armored boots that go along with the rest of its armor set. The armor's colour would be either red or blue with golden details. The base name for this homunculus or rather its race (?) would be Gallanad.

I've also imagined a couple skills it would have, leaving OPness aside since it doesn't really come to the case knowing it's not really gonna be in-game ever, which would be the following.

Bearer: Active skill - The homunculus taunts the nearby enemies in hopes to protect its master. Casts a 6x6 AoE version of provoke around itself.

Impaling:Active skill - The homunculus launches itself against the target dealing neutral damage which is modified by the monster's size. (Think of it as a pierce)

Soul Chain: Active skill - Takes 25% of the damage destined to its owner for a set amount of time, has a slight chance to activate Blood Tears or Bearer's Wrath.

Blood Tears: Passive skill - The homunculus releases blood tears from the bottom of its heart due to its devotion to its master, heals homunculus for a set amount of hp/5 seconds for 30 seconds. Imbues the master with the "Mutual Respect" buff which gives the player x% damage boost for 30 seconds.

Bearer's Wrath: Passive skill - The homunculus releases the pain of countless battles in an unnerving cry. Deals x% damage in a 6x6 AoE.The damage depends on the homunculus' Max HP and current HP, the more Max HP it has and the less current HP it has the more damage it deals. Imbues the master with the "Understanding" buff which boosts the player's potion pitching heal by an x%.

I've thought about some other homunculi as well but i may share those later on if you happen to like the idea of discussing this. Have you ever imagined your own original homunculus? Tell us about it~

If I could create my own Homunculus, I'd name it Arcanine. And it would be an Arcanine.

RO needs more pokemon battles.

Skrymir would have to take more feedings than other homunculi to loyal up, considering his golem appetite. Just don't go up against a powerful Warlock like Fenris and you'll be fine.

These homunculi can only be obtained by completing a quest. They have no pre-evolution.

I didn't make any of these sprites, I just had some fun filling in the blanks. :V

Back story: An alchemist of pure heart travels deep under an Amatsu shrine seeking spiritual guidance/adventure. They stumble upon a mighty dragon spirit has been poisoned by an evil magic. The dragon pleas with the alchemist to concoct an antidote to save him, by collecting a series of legendary ingredients such as Freyja's tears. When the alchemist completes the quest and saves the dragon spirit, the dragon agrees to fuse itself with such a selfless hero(ine) and travel with them for a time. Unique feature: If the homunculus dies, the player dies as well, since they are now one.

Back story: A mad scientist at a secret lab in Lighthalzen is conducting experiments on powerful salamander monsters in an effort to produce powerful and obedient soldiers to overthrow the government. The alchemist is called upon by the mad scientist to be the very first commander. During the experiement something goes terribly wrong: the alchemist blacks out from the pain of the procedure. When they awaken, the lab has been destroyed and everyone is dead. A single mutant salamander stares menacingly back at them, it's eyes flickering strangely in it's own light... forever obedient. Unique feature: The homunculus has no special attacks, but each physical hit against it damages the attacker.

Back story: The alchemist is approached by a young mother begging them to find her son. The alchemist sets out to find the little boy, following the trail of clues from where the little boy was last seen. Eventually the alchemist ends up in a dark dungeon and discovers they are too late! The child has already been fed to an evil monster as a snack. In an emotional attempt to get revenge, the alchemist attacks the murderer and defeats them. All the evil in the air causes the child's pure soul to darken, turning into a dark shadow form that begins to follow the alchemist, perhaps thinking they are their parent. It attacks anyone who comes near, and has a strong taste for sweets. Unique ability: Shadow can cast an AoE sleep skill that bypasses any immunity. It then proceeds to feed off of their nightmares.
