I suppose after a divorce its possible, but the former baby may end up becoming an orphan whenever they use their baby skills.

No Divorce doesn't reset your adoption status.

From what I heard from parents who divorced and re-married, you can't. You're stuck with your very first child for good, apparently.

Looking at WP knowledge base it is possible. You will have to request an "Adoption Break" through ticket system, visit this link for more info.

You still need to pay child support to the first child.

^This. My wife and I (reluctantly) made a friend's character our baby. But he hasn't logged in for over 8 months, and there were rumors his account had gotten banned. So I sent a ticket in, and had the adoption link broken. I haven't tested to make sure the link has been broken, nor do I know for sure that we can adopt another character, but it is possible.

I had to wait until the following maintenance, but it's possible if you have a "special circumstance." You can't have 2 of your own characters marry, make another one of your characters a baby, then ticket in to break the link because you want a different character a baby instead.

The only way to reset the status is by requesting an Adoption Break, it does most definitely allow you to re-adopt a new baby :3

Keep in mind to check all your chars before re-marrying just in case you forget that you adopted on it already though lol :< It would save time, money and effort in the long run because adoption breaking requires the character to not be married during the process.

No. Now go clean your room. And for God's sakes, take a bath! :P

Unless your talking about divorced characters only, this is not true. As stated before, my character is still married to my wife's character, but the adoption link has been broken.

that's weird because when a friend of mine sent in a request before, they still told him to dissolve the marriage even though the baby was from the same marriage .-.

Maybe it was just some weird case then lol

But yeah for divorced chars that is most definitely what happens.

Why can't there be a stork NPC in-game that just resets the adoption status whenever people divorce?

Who knows how adoptions and marriages are recorded in the system.  It's probably not possible to make an in game npc do that.

I have an old adoption I would like to clear.

I would like them to create a npc that can clear expired quest timer so I don't have tons of them cluttering my inactive tab.

The title is very misleading, by the way.

I completely agree about needing the NPC to clear the quest timers from the log...they tend to back up...a lot.

+9000!!!

Freaking Expired quest times makes my quest window all cluttered and hard to look at.  We definitely need a npc that clears all expired quest logs.

If they can implement an NPC that resets marriages (the divorce Deviruchi), then surely they can implement one that can reset adoptions.

I don't understand it either, but it might affect the accounts differently than marriage and divorce. I had to wait until the following maintenance before the GMs could break my adoption link. I think ultimately the reason why there's not an NPC is to prevent abuse some how. I mean, as it is, unless you have a valid reason, it seems you can't break the link. That, plus having a bunch of links to break during maintenance could hinder the rest of the work on the servers...

The only way I can see it being abused...well...there isn't really anyway it could be abused. You could adopt any body that wanted to be adopted. Though, if somehow they all kept summoning the parents...at the same time...could possibly cause a few crashes...and cause people to get really annoyed.
