Here's my pathetic attempt to contribute something LOL:

Interestingly, I thought of a similar sprite but not as a garment but a lower headgear that circles around the head like that castle bat costume (Apollo's Rune -An ancient runic song that resonates in your head. gear effect: reduces cooldown of Performers' 3rd Class Buff and Debuff songs by 50% when worn with +9 Wing Headphones). XD

LP in Mouth. Like a CD in Mouth but bigger and blacker. It would have to have a slew of stupid procs too.

 

Drooping Azathoth Doll: When equipped, inflicts the wearer with the Sleep status. When the Sleep status expires, run a HDD format on the server.

a Few Headgear ideas came into mind while going home

 

Underling's Goggles

 

finished-Dave-Minion-from-despicable-me.

 

Desc:

A faithful Underling's Goggles

 

Increases Banana Recovery Rate to +1000%

10% chance to Use Cast Cancel lvl 3 when casting skills with casting times

10% chance to cause any status effects unto yourself when attacking or using skills

 

when upgraded to +7

removes the Chance effects.

 

when upgraded to +9

+1% Atk and MAtk per Party member on your party -1 (Party Leader's not counted because he's not an underling)

increases Banana Recovery Rate with another + 1000%

Shout "Banana!" for a free Banana on your next monster kill

Re-submission of my Mild Wind Lv. 5 headgear.

 

Observer's Wreath

 

A wreath inspired by the circlet adorned by Naught Seiger. It is said it is woven from the bones of the fallen observer.

 

Int +3,

Increase Resistance to Ghost Property by 15%.

 

If refined to 7 or higher,

Has a low chance of auto-casting Lv 5 Mild Wind.

I think it is an overall good hat but would change the + to stats to every 18 instead of 10. Since a common trapper has most of the following at 100 base usually, it would mean +10 for all those stats @_@

* they will tell you expanding the area of a skill with a headgear can't be done

* it should not be ranger only

* like the previous poster said, should make it 18 so its more in line with the cards that do the similar thing.

okay, second revision, this one should benefit trapper only since the first revision opened an abuse by a kaahi tanker sorcerer.

Reason of change from first revision:

- i mixed up between cooldown and aftercast delay earlier (sorry), and i noticed that skills like element changing traps and keen nose suffered by long delay, not cooldown. So, if you are true dedicated to traps by spending all trap skills, you will be rewarded by 50% aftercast delay reduction (or make it 1% per skill, so it is 25% overall if 50% sounds too OP). Take note, none of ranger offensive skills are affected by delay, only the support ones and it is a huge bummer.

- Now the dex and int increase only triggered by fire and ice trap skills making the advantage only achieveable by trapper. The first revision made a sorcerer with kaahi able to exploit this to gain a big amount of dex and int, and that is not the purpose of the hat.

- Deleted stat switching, but replacing with King Poirng Hat style of raising stats, but only for dex and int, and it is started at +7 to +12.

- The mini RWH effect still there to be unlocked at +9.

Don't bite my hand for saying this but does it reallly need leeching effects?

 

Incubus Pets are cheap and amazing for SP and for trappers, it is pretty suicidal not to use a quad malicious dagger.

I will flesh this out more, as a pre-nerf Trapper, doing an average 8k per trap kept you in a constant state of instant health and sp... with a +9 rideword hat.

 

Now if the hat is looking at ways to increase dps of traps (not necessarily pure damage but via other methods of increasing your average dps), then it doesn't REALLY need that extra leech.

 

If I may offer an alternative:

 

A Bombring managed to escape from the Ranger job test. Now it explores the world helping out adventurers.

 

Int +3, Dex +2
Increases resistance to all elemental properties by 5%.

 

If refined to 7,

has a chance of increasing Int by refine rate * 3, Dex by refine rate * 2 for 6 seconds

 

If refined to 9,

Reduces cast delay of all trap skills by 60%.

 

Class : Headgear
Defense : 12
Location : Upper
Weight : 60
Required level : 100
Jobs : Hunter

Yours is too strong I am telling you, kro it's going to do like they did with the very normal hat etc. Our proposal for that one was 30% matk, but when is the last time you saw 30% matk on a headgear? Never. Usually like 7~12% at most. So they kicked it back and nerfed to 12%. So let me ask you does 60% after cast delay reduct, more than an mvp card, not sound like its going to get kicked back? It certainly does to me. Youre not going to get away with much more than "20%/Archer only" there. Also refine*3 means ppl will do as much as 36~40 which is insanely high, kro will prolly kick that back on principle. Thats why I said set it to 20.

Also "all trap skills" is too vague and I don't think "COOLDOWNS" can be lowered by a percent; are 3rd job traps global delay or skill specific?

Also this isn't a event hat this will end up in a lucky box, don't set it to 1 class that's gonna peeve people off.

I think 30% cast delay reduct is a lot, but not so much for traps. The original effect tried to boost trap damage, so why not speed up the time between placing traps. I suppose you could do 30% but it is still a mediocre amount for traps at all.

 

Yeah, refine*3 is a lot, but not when you consider it is only for 6 seconds at a low chance (Mild Wind level chances here). I suppose you could settle for *2 and *1.5 but the idea is to try increase trap damage where possible in a way that it makes traps a little more powerful then they already are. Say you did +12, then suddenly you got +36 int and +24 dex for 6 seconds.

 

I wish I had a calc but considering the amount of damage that was trying to be introduced originally this doesn't seem too bad. Look at the Drooping Eddga. Mine is +12, 300 ATK for about 5 seconds. It's downfall is that you lose some SP at the same time. I think I would need to see a working calc for traps to see the huge impact 6 seconds at a time for a high refined version would effect it.

 

But look, I do realise 60% cast delay reduct is A LOT but it is only for traps. If only we had a spare kiel to test out how much more effective traps were with it then we could see just how powerful this hat would be. Look at the Sound Amp, 50% variable cast reduction. It's class specific and better than an MVP card (Beelzebub).

 

I think a trapper still has viable leeching abilities and since it is no longer neutral with a rough average of 5000~8000 damage per trap, then other ways to increase the damage should be introduced.

 

And the point of setting it to one class is so it can be a little more crazy, but I suppose I could change it to add Rogue classes as well.

You can't apply that sort of logic to it at all. I would like fuyu to get his hat made that's why I am giving suggestions. I could have said please give wing headphones +100% reverberation and +200% metallic sound damage and that would have been perfectly fine in game, but I knew gravity would reject it so I made a modest request for 30%. You need to just be modest if you wanna get it through.

 

BTW sound amp isn't just restricted to 1 class, its restricted to the class that needs variable/floating cast reduction the least due to high DEX :P Owl's eye and improve concentration alone give archer-types some of the highest DEX totals in the game.

 

To further clarify with example, we gave +30% matk to the chaser hat because MATK sucks on a chaser and they need it. 30% matk hat would be OP on a warlock, but not a chaser. But they STILL kicked it back and said its too high.
