Im new in the Renewal and dunno if theres a hybrid build which guilds recruit?

I like to be more of a "support" class rather than just dmg in woe, dont care about pvp (think its a bit pointless lel) and im looking for a build which does fine at both pvm (parties) and woe, doest it exist? do guilds recruit hybrids?

also a friend told me kagerous use just one skill in woe, is that true? anw sorry for all the questions :D

Kage/Obo isn't a very popular class on iRO. They have a very low MHP and so can't survive much abuse, they can't equip trans gear, and just generally, their status as an Expanded class puts people off. You'll have trouble being taken seriously by WoE guilds if you intend to fight on a Kagerou.

The "one skill" your friend was referring to was likely Rapid Throw. Damage that ignores redux and is capable of 1-shotting most any character that isn't in a tight group or equipped with Tao. I'm not a big fan of the skill but it makes you very dangerous, so take it if you really want it. Just remember that it's worthless unless at Lv8-10, and that's a lot of points you could be pumping into other, more versatile skills.

For PvM/WoE hybridisation you'll want to prioritise Throwing. Large, bursty AoEs are best and Swirling Petals delivers on that. Mix in KE as well. Magic, particularly the seal skills for high rate stat procs, are an absolute necessity for the support build Kage, prepping large mobs in PvM for the kill and your survivability in WoE, but consider them as more of a supplement to the throwing skills that you'll be firing off. Freezing Spear with sufficient cast time redux is able to lock people in place with a large number of hits per second, making it excellent for blocking skills with a cast time and preventing engagement. Blaze Shield is an good tool for slowing an advance due to the large AoE, as it may be cast in chokes. Flaming Petals is by far your most damaging magic skill but remember that most people in WoE default fire armour to defend against DB.

In WoE, without RT, your job will be to debuff and immobilise your opponents. SP is great for PvM but the double redux in WoE physics means it'll just tickle to most players. Don't bother killing since your guild will definitely have better classes for that in play, and don't KS unless you're 110% sure the target isn't wearing reflect gear.

Now a few things about skill selection.

  • Leave Flip Tatami at 1. You only want it for the ranged damage nullification and higher levels don't do anything for that.
  • CSS needs to be at max level.
  • Ninja Aura is at your discretion. You don't really want it for the small stat bonuses, but instead for the flag that allows the use of Mirror Image and Killing Strike. The extended duration isn't very useful since you'll only be using KS on immobilised or helpless targets and it's easy to string your buffs prior to the KS.
  • Leave Pure Soul at 3. Anything else is a waste of points since using it again within the active duration cancels it. Also remember that PS gives you a flat 50% chance to dodge magic, including AoEs like Psywave.
  • Exploding Dragon is pathetic. Don't get it.
  • Kunai Splash is also pathetic. Don't get it.
  • Make sure you grab all the Charms and Cast Ninja Spell. Those are your go-to support skills on the back line of WoE and to defend yourself from overzealous killers. Using a water charm seal on someone without unfro is almost guaranteed to cause freeze or deep freeze.
  • Illusion: Bewitch doesn't work correctly afaik. Up to your discretion.
  • Empty Shadow and Shadow Trampling are AMAZING in PvP and WoE. Get them both.
  • Soul Cutter is good but the prereqs are too steep for a throwing/magic hybrid. Get it if you have leftover points but otherwise don't bother.

Also, if you want to be a real troll, take a Flame Skull shield along with you. The stat procs work through CSS.

i woulda responded sooner but the forums people dont seem to have a sense of humor of any kind... anyhow...

PVP/WOE are a joke... its so pay to win its not even funny... its one of the stupidest things you could waste your time on as a kagerou... 98% of PVP kagerou use rapid throw because they have NO actual skill when it comes to playing... with the amount of Golden Thief Bug cards on the server magic is a waste of time... im not sure what the point of using a kagerou for PVP is... shadow chasers can copy Rapid throw so even if you can kill one with it they will prolly just copy it and come back and kill you with it easier than you can... and woe is just a bunch of drama queens showing of their giant e-penises with their god items and MVP cards and +15 gears.... if you want to do that feel free... but you would be much better off choosing a different class...

why don't you start contributing then... trying to get more people into your guild instead editing the wiki?

i want good effective guildies... i can usually tell pretty quick who will make and who will get left behind... and im not about to spend that much time trying to write a guide for all the different builds only to have it go unappreciated... no thanks... id rather coach em one at a time even if they arnt in my guild... running to a generic guide for all the answers wont make you good... it will make you basic... why should I be the one to write it anyway? ive already given plenty to the ninja community as is...

Well at least they can start from one instead of zero. First of all, how people actually find out about your guild if they don't even touch the forum and wanted to start playing a ninja? There's a few bunch of ninjas who asked ME about how they should build they ninja since the wiki didn't work for them. I told them to go to Amatsu and join your guild but no, they have attachment to their previous guild or some sort or maybe dunno about your guild at all so they hesitate.

Tbh I'd write about my build or the builds I've tried but my knowledge ain't as broad as yours when it comes to the diverse choice of gears and my build atm is pretty much specialized so I could mislead people.

And when I DO mislead people, you'll start mocking at how the wiki is badly written all over again.

nobody has to join my guild to ask me questions... i answer them all the time... i get PMs prolly 20 times a day on average asking me questions and i always answer... the only thing im not teaching people anymore is my personal build... people are free to PM me here or in game anytime with any ninja questions they have...
