*smile* i'm so glad you like this. I know that my example left a lot lacking but as you can see ( and hopefully see more of) is that people are creative. I hope that people remember there is a section for Semi-handmade if people want to add things that are already pre done. Please don't be shy, I know for me, i appreciate all the work shown, as my daughter is thrilled when she can find something she can emulate and make for herself~ 

 

if you know anyone (throws it out there for anyone) who is even somewhat creative, then let them know about the post and maybe we can see more lovely works~

So I tried (and somewhat failed) at making the pop-up card.

But I like doing artsy fartsy things eventhough I'm not so good at them...

so you'll all just have to bear with me a bit.

Here are some of the materials I used. Some of them I ended up not using and some that I used that aren't there. XD

So the first step was to make the tree. So I folded the green paper and cut it up into strips. Mmm strips... bacon... *drools*

Then I stuck it onto the board (yes, that is a cardboard. I just saw it and recycled it lol)

Next thing I made was the star and the gift boxes but I forgot to take pictures. >_<

 

Then I drew and colored the lovely couple (and yes, I know, I cannot draw. I apologize XD)

I would've drawn my wanderer but then I realized my drawing prowess is not up to par with the task. 

I still think it's cute though. :3 *rollsinfluffycuddles*

After which, I got a cotton ball and stuck it all over the bottom to make it more Lutie-like.

Here's my entry ^o^!

This took forever to make I'm not very good with a x acto knife I guess... but anyway, it's supposed to be the Lutie tree and the surrounding buildings. If anyone saw an AB standing in Lutie for like 4 hours this past weekend, that was me!

Steps:

1. I found a template online. It was a christmas tree with some buildings in the corners. I'm good at online drawing, so I just printed it out with the buildings on cardstock. I drew the buildings I wanted on the printout itself.

2. To draw the buildings, I went to Lutie to see how they were set up. When you open the card and look at it from the front, you'll see the building with the dessert on the roof in the bottom left. The pumpkin building is in the bottom right. In the top left there's the building with the big chimney and the top right is the one with the cuckoo clock thing and the porch. Here's how it's set up from a birds-eye view:

3. The confusing thing is that I couldn't draw the back 2 buildings on the printout or else their positions would be reversed. What I did was flip the template over and drew the building on the back, then traced them onto the front. The original template I found didn't have any buildings on the back part of the card, only the front where buildings A & B went.

4. Now that all the buildings were drawn on, I cut everything out with an X Acto knife. I used the back of a cookie sheet as my cutting surface... which got scratched up pretty bad.

5. Next, I colored in the buildings and tree based on how they looked in-game.


6. After coloring, I had to assemble the actual card. I folded the half-circle design feet thing along the line from the template, and put double sided tape on the back of them. I taped these about an inch apart from the center of a folded piece of green paper which was slightly larger than the cardstock. I repeated this for the other side, taping and sticking it onto the card about an inch from the center fold.

7. In the template, there were two freestanding tree cutouts. I linked these together, and then stuck them inside the tree that was part of the actual card. So, basically, there were 3 trees connected to form one big tree that pops out.

8. Now the card was put together. I added two strings to the top of the tree. I added these because the tree in Lutie also has strings (garland?) coming from the top of the tree down to the ground. I also drew in the ramp with the poring on it to make it seem more like Lutie.


9. I drew and colored in the poring. I added two little yellow balls on top of where the string attached, but I changed it to little leaves because the balls stuck out too much. I also colored the strings red/yellow with markers.

I dunno the first webpage I looked at said basically just cut two lines in a piece of paper, fold it back out, and glue something to it. Didn't seem that hard to me, but I didn't do that method so idk.

Origami Mastery Lv. 1 lets you do basic paper crafts. Origami Master Lv. 5 lets you do paper crafts that can be folded and pop up again.

No points mean you can't do anything.

Sorry I didn’t post mine sooner, I took all the pics but forgot. Mine is probably the 50% category I guess since I did print some things out (details below)

I wanted to make something with the crystal monsters since they’re one of my favorite things about Ragnarok’s christmas. 

 

I went out and bought some cardstock. The pastel patterns were cheapest so I got those. I also got some double sided tape and colored pencils. I cut one piece of the cardstock (pink, then changed it to yellow, but I used the white back so you can’t tell anyway) to about half a sheet and folded it in half. I cut 4 slits (for the 4 colored crystals) in the folded crease and bent them back outwards to create the pop ups. I glued this piece onto a green piece of cardstock. They didn’t have red so I thought green was the most christmas-y.

 

I drew some things on the bottom of the card corresponding to the crystals color. For example, where the blue crystal is, I put grape juice, an OBB, and a blue gift box. I colored all the drops in with pencils.

 

Next, I used word art to write Merry Christmas Ragnarok and then printed out the 4 different crystals. I didn’t think my handwriting or art skills would end up in something legible. I glued the words to the top of the card and then glued the crystals above their respective drops on the cutout tabs.

 

On the backside of the green cardstock (it was plain white), I made it look like the gift boxes on the inside. I chose the yellow and blue gift boxes since those two crystals are my favorite (blue is my favorite color, and I love those yggberries ). I cut out the ribbons from plain printer paper and colored them in, then taped them on top of the white cardstock I had colored yellow/blue. So when you flip it over it looks like a different giftbox.

I used some 12 x 12 Christmas card stock i bought at Micheal's. And picked out the sheest of paper i liked. A total of four sheets.

Cut! cut the edges (I'd tell you the measurements but i pretty much winged it, cause i'm not good at it!)


Should be crossed shaped! and Don't throw out the left over cut outs you'll need those later!

Start folding the flaps in!


Glue the middle inside and stack the rest of the paper

I went on to the drawing process and picked out what characters i wanted it to be in! 






I then went in and re inked it. and fixed the hair on the AB and Chaser was a little to messy and weird looking in the picture above lol so i fixed it. ^


And then painted! I paint very messily but that's okay because i later re inked it with a pen and later cut them out


Little qt Lemon Eclair and Super Smalls <3 as my center piece.


The card stock came with these little Tags and cute saying and thought it be a cute idea to include them on my card. So i cut some of them up and pasted.







I made a cute little pocket for little Snowy Snow here! 



And pull him up!

I glued the sides and inserted him in!

I used this paper to make the Bells hanging across and re used the paper to make a tree. 






One of the flaps! this guy was the first one i drew out of the bunch but i didnt take a picture of the drawing process because i figured i wasn't going to use it but he's definitely in there!

Making the lid! (again no measurements i winged it, i went through 3 sheets of paper just to make it fit! lool)

Cut and fold and glue the flaps inside!


Lid is done!


That's what the box should look being closed!

Used Ribbon to tie the box!



And  just added the eyes, blush and mouth, towards the end
