No, it just counters some attacks with a poison attack.

Think of it as a counter attack. You don't choose a poison, the attack is poison property. That's all~

Simply put: just a counter with different element.

The way it works is, when you have it up and you get hit by a non-poison element attack, it has a chance of procing - if it does, it uses Envenom with a small damage bonus on the source of the damage. It does not block the attack. If you are attacked with physical poison element attack, poison react is canceled, and does a larger amount of damage (IIRC, this isn't usually fatal, but it hurts. Not sure how it's calculated or how it interacts with things. According to wiki, it's the element of your weapon) to the source of the damage, and I think it also makes you start normal attacking them too. I don't remember if it blocks the attack.

For the autocast envenoms, it'll behave like manually cast Envenom. For the counter it does vs poison attacks, who knows - I don't think anyone has reported test results for that.

it's soo good in pvp against gxes that use endow poison. you do like a 27k hit then hit them 2 more times and they're dead.

its still useful against other GX who uses enchant poison rather than any element, it hits hard, might as well kill them... the onething i noticed with the poison react is, if you uses a katar, it will give a crit a damage, and if you uses a double dagger it will use double attack, maybe it will crit if you don't have the double attack skill... hhmmmm

I highly recommend poison react. Not only is it super useful to teleport monsters, when a GX venom impressions you and tries to crit you with edp poison is hilarious watching them punching themselves to death. You can put on a poison toad accessory equip a status mailbreaker and push people around, and out of pneumas, freeze/curse/sleep/etc them with it, poison cloud over them, sap their sp, or just one shot them. Poison react is awesome.

If you're hit by a poison property attack, you block the attack (at least normal attacks). Not sure if it blocks skills.

When you counter from that, you counter with a normal attack with boosted damage. The damage can be further boosted by EDP and elemental advantage.
