Well, So I decided to get back to ROSE for some fun  but... I'm getting really scared... less and less players everytime, the economy are getting weak every week. Almost all the stuff are losing his valor, running by some maps, no more people lvling, no more partys... Is it the real end way of rose??? Seriously, there's no more fun playing a game where you can't farm cause most of your farm worst nothing more, crafts are getting more and more useless, you only see the same but less players everywhere, everytime...

Man, this is the only game I really enjoyed for years! Even I try playing another, I still miss this game but actually...

I can appreciate your opinion, but if you're just coming back, how about playing first for a while, get a good feel for all the changes, and if you still have concerns or issues, let us know. Population is all in the higher tier game play because low to mid range is pretty quick for those who know what they're doing or power level through it.

This is true. A lot of veterans play, such as myself, and you can get up to Junon in about 20-30 minutes. It could be a lot faster.

I did make a 1-25+ leveling video for beginners who are just starting out(look in my forum signature); this is without any items, money, or buffs. 1 hour of me leveling through building my character, and taking down a boss at the end.

I also linked the game site, and forums to hopefully promote the game a little. The playerbase does need some help. The future server merge should help this a little.

Well this is what I know, once you get to the point where the progression quests are done, you start to lose people. They feel like they can't get parties, and there are no more good quests for solo leveling, so they leave. Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying that there are no good quests after that point, what I am saying is that the people leveling feel that way. I have been trying to level a char myself, and I can not get a party for her, she is an arti, so she can't do the Underground Prison Quests, ( she is level 185), she has done the Orlo quests already ( as many as she could since she can't get into Muris), so I just solo level in Marsh of Ghosts, which goes very slowly. I think a lot are just quitting once they get to the point where they feel they can't get parties.

Well, even when I "leave" the game, I do still following the changes and time by time, visiting the game to check the updates...

Junon seens with less and less shop time by time and as I said, the most part of the stuff are getting useless. I did stopped crafting for a example, cause there's no more a big demand of new players or no, in need of a gems, crafting gears is getting hard too cause you almost can't find shop selling the common materials or just a lil part of are buying those, so much players just don't waste time looting it anymore.

For sure, for a old player like me and much others, and for who already have a buffer or something, lvling, getting to junon is really fast. But then, i see no more players/partys in kenji beach, I mean, there is no more "random" players for everywhere, sometime you see a lil group wich started togheter and in 3~5 almost hit lvl 200, so for who are running by the maps looking for a party or something, you may not find. Also, farming, running map by map is no more useful, It's much more hard to find someone in a random map farming or doing something else... Anima Lake, George of Silence, Goblin Cave, Forest of Wisdon, Dalphing Island, Breezy Hills, Luna maps, also maps of Xita is not being used anymore, those new players fall in the same trail that everyone does; Adventure's Plains, Zant, Breezy Hills, Junon, Kenji Beach, OT, Ruins, Orlo.

There is no more dealers crafting all type of stuff to survive and help another newbies wich will need this not so important, but useful for her low level game. No more "sacrifice" lvling, even if you don't have any stuff in the game, once you meet someone who have, in hours, not more a day you hit level 100, then there's just a jump to level 200.

I no longer see the need of questing years ago. I mean, will not be more usefull than just fighting here and there randomly. The artisan have lost they holiness, no more fun or glamour on being a crafter. The PAT system  for  a example have dead for the new mall pat/mount stuff. Castle Gear are useless, there is no more reason to have a cg for wars like it suposed to be, cart with battle arms but for a collection and nothing more.

This is not suposed to be an negative or offensive thread, I just want to share my pov of the game and say that I really have no plans to stop playing ROSE for the next years but i can't find fun in it anymore, i would like to see it grow up again to theyr glorious days and see more and more players comming to us and help as I can.

I feel your pain, fortunately, my artisans have no problems selling their low level crafted gears, but then, I farm my own mats. Perhaps I should start buying some too, but then I would have raise my prices. I still have hope for this game however, as I know change is hard for us old timers, but new people won't even know it was changed.

Maybe someone should start helping around more as well to encourage playing. I think new players also have this problem of not reading at all.

I usually place a shop in Zant selling Reinforced/Hardened level 30 equipment at prices around the same as someone who buys chems in Zant. Placing it in a window a bit offset from your main window, you can see that real newbies still buy them when they can, so it helps them survive nowadays that mobs have also become stronger. It's just hard to follow up with higher level equipment, say level 50, and I worry what extremely new players do by then.

Now I really think new players need to do a little more reading, so that they won't be clueless too much. I also know of some newbies who don't understand the Buy tab of player shops, therefore selling to the NPC what could have been something they can make money of.

And, pdfisher, is that shop in Zant in Leonis belongs to you? The one that sells nothing but Hardened equipment as well as some Shields, Backshields, etc? If so, allow me to say thank you as well! The lowbie hardened equipments really helped me work out my way in Leonis better, as I went there to get a breath of fresh air, haha.

The problem is not every player looks at the forum. Even if they do the market is controlled by the rich players. And I mean the players who been playing this game for years and just stocking up on items then sell them for high. I think there should be in game mods that go around helping players (new/old). I really want the old days of RO back. It was so much fun pvp and running around killing bosses. First week back and I only login to join CD and greet some old game-mates...

Hmm, that shop I mentioned in Leonis only sells Hardened weapons and shields/backshields. I'm still "just starting" in Leonis, haha, so I can't help you with that. Really sorry.

But yeah, wow, thanks for telling me who it is! Hehe! But is it really him though..? Oh well, haha, I can't say, since it isn't allowed to say character names here.

You are always welcome to try and play ROSE as long as you do not have any expectation for the game. When you play the game, you have to remember that the DEV Team can change any value whithin the game as they please, and there is nothing you can do about it, so you should not fix your attention on anything. Instead, you should take it easy and play the game as it is.

I'm not saying "bad things", I'm saying the true, and actually who knows me here and in-game, knows that I SAY, no matter if is not what someone would like to read, but that i say, and if I say, sure I have a reason, not to offend or degrade the game, cause It's already 6 years more I'm playing ROSE and I still loving this game.

@TaeNiMiKu, how its not allowed to say characters name here? pff..

About this shop, I'm not sure but I believe it's not Pamela (pdfisher).

You just can't say player names here if you're going to report something or offend someone, that's why exist a support area.

One thing I will comment on here and question wise....

I thought a while back there was an idea of bringing the importance of Castle Gear back, in a Game Arena type of way. I remember talking with Genesis (just idea conversation, nothing saying it was set in stone or even being fully considered) about there being an arena game where you would need the use of Castle Gear to break down certain walls/barriers to get to the enemies points/crystals/etc. ... is this something still that could be happening? I think needing Castle Gears would be fun again.

I've yet to get my first Castle Gear, but I do wish they'd be of some use again other than a status symbol. Those things are very nice, and one of the first things I've seen wayy back before in a video...way..waaay back before, that made me start playing ROSE.

for me  is hope to create one server^^

now..

0 wars cuz all are friendly

0 place where clans can fight for somethig like Boss with respawn every 12/24 hours (Golden Astarot with chance to get Gold Wings)

or in Dod.. maybe Eldeon CF with new boss ..

0 help for new players .. hard to catch party.=with 1 server more chance..

Add maybe Arua Buffer what can buff every 1hour for 60min new players in junon

New craft (cuz artisan weak now just stats grade 1/gems (beryls) nothing more..)<<<,scrolls destroyed  this class

New  Valor quest's  with nice exp +items for new players

Important is Make alot for new players or just make 1 server and keep elite players .. draco vs Leonis i know prices blabla but  who care..

i want fun and see LIFe junon + active pvp maps

There will always be wars. Most of the people that play this game do it for the PvP aspect of it.

0 place where clans can fight for somethig like Boss with respawn every 12/24 hours (Golden Astarot with chance to get Gold Wings)

or in Dod.. maybe Eldeon CF with new boss ..

There are two clan fields as it is now, one in Junon, one on Luna. I don't see the point in making a third, seeing as the first two aren't utilized very much as it is right now.

0 help for new players .. hard to catch party.=with 1 server more chance..

This is indeed a problem. When I am on, I do try to help the new players if I can. But until the player base increases, and botting is exterminated, it will be hard to find a party right now.

Add maybe Arua Buffer what can buff every 1hour for 60min new players in junon

Interesting idea!

New craft (cuz artisan weak now just stats grade 1/gems (beryls) nothing more..)<<<,scrolls destroyed  this class

I have to disagree with you there. I have no problems selling low level equipments on my artisans. I also craft pots and those sell pretty well too.

New  Valor quest's  with nice exp +items for new players

This is being worked on! Don't give up. :)

I can appreciate your opinion, but if you're just coming back, how about playing first for a while, get a good feel for all the changes, and if you still have concerns or issues, let us know. Population is all in the higher tier game play because low to mid range is pretty quick for those who know what they're doing or power level through it.

I feel the same way every time I come 'back' from a little break. Population is higher in higher levels, but there are still substantially less people in the game, an unless you're counting everyone's characters as separate entities in your population.. I am not sure where you are getting numbers.  For instance, I know people who log in ten characters(or more) a day.. Is that all counted towards the population.   I have always felt that the best way to get an idea of the activity of rose is to look at the number of vendors.  Or, look at the training grounds as far as PVPers. It used to be filled with constant warring, which branched out onto all the other PVP maps.. Now, I'm lucky if I get to log in and see any wars and most of those are a joke because of 'stat buffers.'  Which, fyi, are far worse then boosters ever were as far as buffing and players refusing to come without them.

The game has been made easier so you've lost a lot of the more 'hardcore' gamers to other games and unfortunately you're lacking the flow of people coming in.  Usually a game can maintain better if you have a somewhat equal amount of players coming in as others grow bored and move on.

While we understand your desire to make the game your own with all these changes to move forward, many of them are ultimately hurting the game because you don't have the incoming flow of players.  I have an addictive personality... I can play a game for hours on end and not get bored for months--take a month break from the game and come back and do it again.  With rose(and it really is unfortunate to have to say this because this was once one of my favorite games), I get bored within a half hour of logging in.. and that is assuming that I have numerous people in clan chat entertaining me for a half hour.  PVM is a joke, PVP has been made far too easy. It used to require some thought to your build and skill.. Now it requires very little to none in thought.

There used to be things that separated the good from the great.  Raiders cloak and burn used to be awesome(Pre the great skill update), but you listened to the people who said it was too powerful.   A great cleric would keep her team and herself purified(effectively getting rid of poison/burn and stopping the damage in its tracks) and great champ or other great raiders would help the cleric out by decloaking and taking care of the assaulting raider.   What you did for the complaints was make cloak a joke, give almost every class a decloaking skill(yes, its optional.. I don't have it because I have teammates to help me out with that), and nerfed poison and burn to the point that it tickles. Clerics have far too many party heals that makes warring of any sort boring--throw flames in there(I don't care who tells you otherwise.. they do a substantial amount of healing the moment they are summoned) and you have a really boring game. This is especially true because you've coupled it with Crystal Defenders which is a bottle neck map that has everyone standing on top of each other--great for spamming those party heals.  Now the most choice I have is what gear I use and that's debatable too.   I'm forced to have some sort of charm gear--maybe forced isn't the word. Bullied is the better word.  I could ride far less charm because charm effects heals on a massive scale, but people would ultimately judge the cleric who has the least amount of heals because of that wonderful scoreboard you have.  The scoreboard that favors the clerics who just res and heal people, letting them die again seconds later--never giving them buffs or a fighting chance. Its all about the points rather then about the team work.  There is no real thought about where heals are going, its all spam. Before you had to think about who you were going to heal.  I've got four heals and one party heal--where do I use them.  Clerics don't have to target themselves to heal--that used to make it more difficult and exciting.. I digress,   You made charm so important(I still believe its because we laughed at you when you put it on heira's tear) that its had a horribly adverse effect.  If you have low charm as a cleric, teammates will make snide comments about their low stat buffs.  "Thats all" "Only +21"  So, really, a pvp cleric doesn't have as much choice in their build as you make it out to seem.

And that is just one of the classes, I can not imagine how the others are.. but I can tell you that some of the clerics I know stopped playing as much, stopped playing for similar reasons.. And that many people who are bored and don't know why..  probably have similar root problems.

Yeah I must agree with this observation of depopulation in ROSE. A year ago, I could level my characters to 200 in a week with different parties but now it takes long months before I could reach 200. I highly suggest that GMs should also put new players into consideration when changing the game. As I have observed, the market in Junon [Leonis Server] are controlled by the rich people. Come to think of it, if I am a new player and sees the status of the market and realizes how hard it is to earn and to level up to be able to farm and earn money, will I still get motivated to continue playing ROSE? Maybe not. But ROSE has been very important to me since this served as an escape for my reality so I do hope you'll do some actions before it's too late. Before everyone else is gone.

Well, being a relatively new player (less than a year), what is a buffset and why is it removed?

Regarding newbies, I agree that it's very hard to come around at the very first. However, once they skip the very first thing they should do (which is talk to the fairy), they will really have a hard time getting around. A lot of newbie help can be found by reading a lot of in-game messages as well as being a bit observative (this usually solves starting money problems). By reading, I do not mean the forums; you can get by without it. Sometimes though, it's just that people are too much of an "introvert" in the game; denying party offers and the like.

I created several new characters in Draconis (as I want to try out every class), but playing them independent as if really new. This way I can really see the new guys. In order to get by, both in how the game works and starting goodies, quests are necessary (and if you're interested in the story, it's wayy better. It's just sad that it's not finished.). However, to speed up leveling, a party is more plausible, and much more if you do the quests together. Meeting real newbies is really nice, but sometimes, they can be a bit too shy.

Sometimes, I try to buff people around the starting areas. Funny thing, sometimes, upon the buffing with the HP increase, they almost instantly log out, claiming that I'm "killing" them. Very, very weird...so yeah, I guess you have to say that you are buffing them...

the problem with new guys been "shy" is their lack of English, I mean, there is lot of people to have huge problems understanding the game because they don't speak good English,  this has happens to me a lot since I had come back (since My first language is not English either, I can understand their frustration, and I try to help, now with the Spanish speaking is easy, but the majority of this new players are Indonesian/Philippines), and well, there I am lost, I try but some people get in this "fast pace parties" and end level 180 with no knowledge of skills or classes, so maybe, a bit of help in different languages can be welcome...

about the rest, I feel the pain about everything been empty, I remember back in beta times when just to get in was a fight because the servers were full... :p_laugh:
