Patch 173 Preview: Nightmare and Terror Armors

New armor sets are heading their way into Requiem. These armor sets are planned to be included in the new open world raid boss, Mare-Gall, The Avatar of War. The Nightmare and Terror sets are based around the currently dropping Voxyon armor sets. These variations will consists of Critical Additional Damage and Skill Critical Additional Damage.

Something different about these new armor sets and how they drop is quite new to Requiem. While Mare-Gall will drop 2 random pieces of armor every time he dies at the hands of the Temperions, but he will also drop 2 new boxes! Each boxes when opened will drop a piece of random armor for that player based on their class and what type of box is.

Example: Radiant opens a Terror box, once open they will receive a Terror ______ of Blasphemy

One unique thing with the new box is that there is a chance that players will be able to obtain a "Potens" version of the armor. The "Potens" version of the armor is a piece that has already been reinforced to +30. While the Potens armors are maxed out, the Nightmare and Terror base versions have a chance to outshine the "Potens" due to the random additional stats that their primary stats might gain.

Additionally, there will be a daily quest for players to do to kill the Avatar of War. Players will obtain Essneces of Nightmare and Terror. With these players can compound their own armors over time if they could not win a roll for the armors (Potens Excluded).

Thank you,

Requiem Team

i like the idea of trying to help the free/low paying players, but if you think about it, only the highest paying players will be able to get the free +30 items because it is open world and whoever does the most damage gets the drop. So kinda poor system, if anything make the daily quest give the box

Jugger Nut re-visited, different setting, same s**t.

Observation: the "Potens" pieces (+30 equivalent version, you say?) show no increase in the attribute values (CON, INT etc), and if anything, their final values seem to be lower than the +0 counterparts. Not sure if serious?

Stupid question of the day: if the above are indeed the real (and intended) values, do you actually expect anyone to bother getting any of those, never mind upgrading or using them? In any case the "special" Potens versions, if they are what the picture show, are reduction fodder, at best.

Looks pretty promising, best of luck camping, farming, getting camped, trolled, and also best of luck with all the QQ, rage and animosity this will create among the hordes of ReQQ players. We have seen this all before with Jug-Nut already, this time the  will be even more epic (or sad).

Great idea, now free player will have a chanse against old +30 players.

But what will happen with our already +30 89 sets? any changes or will just stay the same?

Just for once, think about poor players! Remove Bound on Adquire!!!

No thanks, I'd rather keep my 85 set that adds a shizzload of CON and STR. Good to have a CAD option tho.

Just make sure this Mare-Gall doesnt look like a pokemon. Requiem is a horror game after all.

Well decided gravity, after sleep. If this new armour, regular or potens is better than 89 current at 30 then you will never earn a single penny from me ever again. So I suppose this is good decision if you have other forms of income, other than milking your dying player population.

I suppose I will enjoying having more money to spend on something in the real world, knowing I will probably still have it this time next year. Good luck for the future gravity.

Well this is just speculation but I think what will be sold at really high prices will be the boxes.

If I got it right, boxes are the only way to obtain potens and they will open class specific. Radiant gets 100% Radiant/Tempest part, Mystic gets 100% Mystic/Foresaker parts etc.

So I just think selling the boxes would be much more lucrative than the armor parts themselves.
