So I've been raising my levels, and I wanted to refine my weapons. However, the more I refine, of course my Magical Attack doesn't increase. I know there are honing items and stones to equip, but it's not enough. I just think that as you refine your weapon, it should also increase in all stats. Hit, Vigor, and Crit. Physical and Magical Attack. This maybe a matter of comparing apples to oranges, but I just wanted to put that out there.

Mind you I am playing a Crecentia Noel, and I've only been able to increase my weapons to +7. However, a lot of our attacks are based off our Magical Attack stats. It would be cool if we could get that additional bonus.

The fact is that when you refine your weapon you increase his min max damage, to increase your Mattack you need to increase INT (if on cres it works for example on knights int gives no Mattack). The total damage is based on both. What you are asking for already exist as crafted items that need a piece of gear as mat.

I think I got it. As we refine we increase min and max damage. Physical Attack damage isn't affected like I assumed. The major factors that come into play are Str, Int, and Agi. For Magical Attack increase I should just equip my items, as I've been doing, with other materials. This clears up my misconception.

Although, it be a great addition to game if we could get those boost with refining.

Refining Increases Min-Max of the Weapon that "Min-Max" is your Base skill dmg which will then be multiplied by your Skill dmg % and that results as your dmg.

Magic attack increases your Skill dmg too but not that much (something like Matt / 13 = Bonus skill dmg). But Magic attack on the otherhand incrases your pets dmg (Just like Attack power) but the thing with Caster classes is that they get  lots of (like 10k or smth) and Cresentias Passive doubles that alrdy (Which results as high damage) so maybe not increase Magical attack per refine unless you want to see Mermaid doing 10k DoT on you at lvl1 (or did they did that alrdy?)

i read somewhere in the forums that the DMG formula are like this:

Magic Class:

Weapon DMG + (Mattk/11) x skill %modifier = final dmg

Physical Class:

Weapon DMG + (Pattk/15) x skill %modifier = final dmg

well i tried the formula for the magic class and its kinda accurate...

in other words... DMG/HEAL greatly relies on the main DMG of your Primary Weapon (min-max dmg)... Magic Attack only boost your dmg/heals in minimal amounts, even if you pump your INT since its get divided by 11... though if your stacking up on Mattk then your pet dmg greatly increase (pets are based on Mattk + Pattk... thats why Cres class has the highest pet dmg)

Do you know until the last december we didn't have min-max on weapon and all the damage was based on pattach and mattack...

yeah Pre-AoV dmg calculation was more simple than AoV

AoV weapons (for physical class) has only min-max dmg + stats (no more Pattk) so items like Vulcans's Blessing (+10% Pattk) is useless since weapons dont have Pattk... though Magic Class weapons still have Mattk on them

this is also the reason why Most DoT (physical classes) skills do less dmg now in AoV cos its still using the old skill% dmg modifier:

exampls:

poisoning weapon lvl1 = 17% of you Atk Power every 2sec

Pre-AoV = a lvl 50 Sin that has 3000 Pattk

17% of 3000 = 510dmg per 2 sec

AoV = a ML20 Sin witn Osiris Weapon no + and has 6300 Atk power (in AoV % is taken from your total Weapn dmg)

Weapon DMG 980-1009 + (6300/15) = 1400-1429

17% of 1400-1429 = 238-243 Dmg per 2sec

P.S. i think Atk Power/14 for Physical class is more accurate

It's not 14 it's a bit more than 10 we need 5 str to add 1 damage the only reason to add str is to add 2 hit points each now.
