Dont we also get 175 in like january or around that? 160~175 level progression seemed to be steeper than 150~160(of course ) aswell.

175 also comes with 10 more job levels, so...

I asked in today's tiki, answer was probably not since people tend to exploit whatever they can to win. 175/60 for january yeah.
Posted 24 November 2014 - 05:00 PM
none of above i will win (either 160 or 175). how many real life time will be sacrificed just to chase a virtual goal.

A race would be fine as long as the prize is just a named headgear or something. Nothing OP.
The big guilds are just going to put all their resources into a few people anyway just so they can be the first. The little guys cant compete.

What exploit? They should just disable EXP rewarding NPCs/medals/items, looking forward to powerleveling tho, just like most of the ppl, I'd be just interested where to go leveling more than the race if they wont do it then. At least thats something new for me aside from just logging for WOE days.

Also I would like to suggest that there be NO experience event when this is implemented.
Make the people who want to be the first 160 really work for it.

And then your account gets locked down due to access from a suspicious IP.
Priceless.
For everything else, there's MasterCard.

How about the big guilds / popular individuals make it a race among themselves, bet amount of maybe 1B per participant, and just make it a GM sanctioned event (if ever the GM team won't have a race event).
Or if ever betting is illegal and there'll be no race event, maybe it'll be good if they just announce who reaches 160/175 first, for bragging rights.

I vote no for disabling Prize Medals lol. I have 10,000 plus on my Genetic. Been saving up for this!!! It is a cash item. Dont screw people that paid money to support the game.

Prize Medals are not a Cash Item. You can get them in-game. You just chose to collect yours via the Cash Shop.
If you're going to plead "I'm a special snowflake paying customer" then at least get your facts straight.

This is important information! Did this get revealed during Tiki Tuesday?

How are Prize Medals obtained from the cash shop not a Cash item?

just because you
chose to collect yours via the Cash Shop
doesn't mean it's a cash item.
for example, you can obtain acid bomb sets from the cash shop. however, they are NOT a cash item because you can make them in game. light blue pots on the other hand, ARE a cash item because you cannot obtain them anywhere else.

They're a Cash Item in the same way that KvMs are a Cash Item. You can farm them in-game but they're also added to boxes as a convenience for paying players. They're not obtainable solely through the Cash Shop and so their supply is not driven entirely by how much money players throw at the game, so "I paid money for these" is not a reasonable argument, as the player could very easily have not spent money, instead farming them normally, and ended up with the same quantity given enough time.

So it's a matter of definition? Items that are available via the cash shop are only called Cash items if you can get them exclusively via the Cash Shop, is that it?
In that case, Almr went full autism on DarkDan, who has an otherwise valid argument, by telling him off for not using the correct terminology.
[Edit] Hang on. I just read your new ninja post. Gonna edit this post. Now that you've already replied, I suppose I'll make a new post so that I don't mess the order of it all up.

No, he does have a valid point. Even if he hadn't paid money for the Medals, it would be tough on him if Prize Medals were to be disabled during the 150 - 160 road. (Or 150 - 175 for that matter.) The fact that he has paid money for them only makes his case more poignant. And if he bought the Medals for the sake of quickly reaching 160, then certainly that's a harsh blow to paying users. (Although admittedly, "screwing people that paid money" is a bit of an exaggeration. I do agree he kinda over-dramatised it.)

I didn't like your reply to DarkDan, but I like you a lot otherwise.

I guess it all comes down to how you perceive the value of time and money sunk into the game for any specific purpose. It's probably the reason why so many players took offense to the Autumn Headband's proposed rework after it was implemented, even if, overall, the change would do more good than harm. The Dark Randgris Helm's original (pre-nerf) effect is the same general thing, and the much more recently nerfed Rudolph Hat. The opposite thing happened with FAWs. We can already see people complaining about the changes to Gramps with the upcoming cap increase due to the time and money they invested in accumulating counts, and it hasn't even happened yet!
I kinda really h8h8h8 people who hide behind "oh well I'm a paying customer my opinion is more valid" though, and it coloured my words a bit more than it should have.
