Hey guys, I have always wanted to play a true sword+shield character in RO but non of the jobs really offer such a choice.  Do you guys think it is possible to build a Sword+Shield Royal Guard and can someone hook me up with some ideas as to what I should get if it is possible.

Sword + shield IB RK is a better idea. All of RG's reliable aoe skills require using a spear.

If you really do want to go Sword+Shield path, you can always build up upon the Grand Cross skill. With the right gearing you can expect to do 50~60k GC's on normal monsters under the right conditions and setups, and 60~80k GC's on monsters weak to Holy property. Even the Imperial Spear+Shield combo which gives 20% damage increase to GC is dull compared to any lvl 4 swords MATK bonuses.

The only skill I known for sword+shield RG is full support RG, the key items for this build is glorious holy avenger and fortune sword. For more details you can refer to the Hayroh full support woe build.
