There is no real guide available, but you could have a look into the DS wiki at http://ds.irowiki.org

I don't think this game is like other MMOs. First of all it's a side scroller, with is untypically these days, but has it's own charm.

Surely you also have buffs here, but buffs only helps you to be stronger, it doesn't make you level up faster.

If you've no experiences with the game I would recommend to start with the Thief class and when you can Job change with Lvl. 20 you can decide for all classes which way to go. There are 2 different possibilities for every base class. But once you choose your path with the first Job change at Lvl. 20 it's permanent. You have to go this path then. There are also 2 another job changes at Lvl. 40 and Lvl. 60 but you can't choose between different jobs then. The following "jobs" depend on the first job you selected at Lvl. 20.

One path of the Thief class is just difficult. It's the Bandit path which I not recommend to choose for one who starts completely fresh.

A very good decision is to choose the Infiltrator path of the Thief. He's fast and strong and still very useful in endgame (the high levels), you are able to even solo the more difficult things with ease, but you're also very welcome to every party.

It's a good class for learning how the game works. But this class is a close combat damage dealer.

The second good choice for a beginner is the Magician class, which you should Job change at Lvl. 20 to the Monk (but there is a typo in the selection text and you have to choose "Mage", the reward must be the staff, not the spear). This class can heal, first slowly, but later instantly you and your party members.

It has some nice buffs later that make you and your party members stronger. It's very beginner friendly because it is a long range attacking class and it's an "allrounder", he can support but also has good attack abilities. This class is able to solo some more difficult maps, too. It is not as strong as the Infilitrator class in PvE, but it comes close in my opinion. And it's a competely other way to play and is the only class that has instant heal for the whole group, can debuff the negative buffs from itself and group members and can resurrect group members (but not itself) later.

If you had fun, you can start over by creating a new character and choose another class, which is more difficult or tricky to play.

If you then search a more challenging class the Warrior->Gladiator path is a good one, as well as both Archer classes.

The Magician->Wizard path depends on personal taste. Good class for PvE, but not so good with boss fights, because it's slow. The attack do damage, but they've cooldowns.

Playing the Thief->Bandit path is the hell. It is the most challenging human class in the game at the moment.

I can't say anything about the Dragokin classes, because I don't play them. But from what I hear, they aren't as easy.

So, welcome to the community and enjoy the game!

Thanks.. then it is preferable to take the Magician-->Monk(Mage) for buffs and then create another Char and go for Thief-->Infiltrator for PvE/PvM.. Is multiclienting allowed?
