You can always try doing the GM job yourself and reporting/recording every bot you see.... but don't hold your breath. I did that for about a week and the people I reported and caught CLEARLY botting are still playing, even after tickets were replied to =/ I really think they just don't care anymore, sadly.

OP pricing and botting doesnt go together

anything that is macro-able/bot-able gets lower on value

Over HP BM can easily bot at FF and queen..

even yesterday, i found a BM and his pet aromine might be farming seeds..try all initial test on him but no reply..

so i stay at that place..share his 10% item drop buff, killing all the mobs around him and let he get nothing just hitting around aimlessly..

did that for two hours and i felt very good about it

Collector Ranked + ML1 BM + Mermaid/Imp spots = most suspicious. Also, they're there the whole day, sometimes on respawn point at izlude, doing the same rotation.

If you are asking whether I did tests or not, sadly I did. Did I report them? No. Last time me and my friend did, it got ignored, probably because it was screenshots

rather than videos.

Edit: Reminder: Some of them are AFK Macros, while having their main chars on. Do not mention their names on public chat because they will move to their AFK macro'ed character.

Way back HHB events,I saw a lot of BMs just spinning around a particular spot in Mermaid area. Tested and no response. Either a bot or a macro user. Anyway,I think it is better that they will no longer tolerate even the slightest form of cheating like using MACRO for example.

Some of them might think that it is OK to do BOT because MACROs are allowed anyway. Hoping that the Devs will soon accept BOTTING.

I don't event know if they really respond to tickets appropriately because I reported some time ago and received an email that my ticket was closed and resolved, however, it really wasn't. Hmmm....

So, whispering in game are your solutions in concluding that a player is macro'ing, I mean if I farm and someone wm'ed me but I do not know that person, I just ignored them, is it really necessary to reply? Your evidence are inconclusive and lacks credibility IMO

If you thought,I just whispered because of the term "RESPONSE", then you got it wrong.

Response does not necessarily mean verbal reply. I am not that shallow.

Lol, no.

Whisper, all chat, PUBLIC chat.... no response:INCONCLUSIVE -> phase 2 of testing!

Party invite, battle invite, trade invite, guild invite... (depending on circumstance)if bot responds to any of these, or these cause the char's aoe-ing to pause until request times out, or if char responds to request but then continues aoe loop with no reply : POSSIBLE BOT -> phase 3!

Put up chatbox on/near said char, add friend, continue whispering, continueparty/trade/battle requesting. At this point it's usually clear whether they are botting or not as there will be SOME form of non-repetitive movement from the player, or chat reply if not a bot.... if no response whatsoever: BOT

Just as an example:

I used above methods on a possible bot. By the time I hit phase 2, they accepted battle request at which point they continued their aoe sequence like nothing happened, even though we were in battle mode. I proceeded to poke said player with no reply to pm or chat or my attacks. Needless to say, when I killed them in battle, the mobs spawned and killed the player for real. I then continued to whisper them with no reply. I used a leaf on them and it res'd the bot to my location, AWAY FROM ALL MOBS and the bot then continued to AoE the air, no mobs present, with no reply to pm or chat. I sent more requests and it accepted a party request eventually. Killing mobs leading away from where I found them, I was able to lure the player with monster loot all the way to Morroc gateway. They continued to AoE spam the whole way there, with no reply to chat. I left them there near the gate, not near any mobs, spamming aoe still after an hour of spectating. AN HOUR... BOT YES?

Reported. THEY'RE STILL PLAYING  :p_ang:  :wall:

Or case #2...

Caught a player with a clicker bot, just endlessly collecting ore. Put my char on a mount over the ore, bot couldn't target ore so it just kept targeting me, but if I moved off the ore, instant collection. No reply to any methods - chat, requests, nothing. 8 hours later, they were still there collecting, still no replies. When they finally did return from not being afk and saw me spectating them, they laughed about it. We conversed and they ADMITTED TO USING A MACRO WHILE THEY SLEEP. They admitted they knew it was against the rules. BOT YES?

Reported. THEY'RE STILL PLAYING  :p_ang:  :wall:

Or case #3....

Found another clicker bot. Same as above really. No reply to methods. When they came back from collecting afk with no reply for like an hour, they conversed with me. I asked some questions and they told me WHAT PROGRAM THEY USE TO BYPASS HACKSHIELD AND BOT. BOT YES?

Reported. THEY'RE STILL PLAYING  :p_ang:  :wall:

All of above tickets were sent in video evidence and are now CLOSED. They were replied to with the usual copy-paste reply. So yea... I don't think WP gives a -_- anymore.

The list given is worth nothing, if it doesn't cause a reaction - already tested that.

Checking every ticket is quite a time-consuming issue and nothing but a short-term fix. So you've wasted money that could bave been spent in a better way.

The goal is to find a way to prevents botting in the first place!

It seems, Gravity/WarpPortal want to address this by limiting the drop chance to +10 lvls, but then you won't be able to do it the legit way either. It's a dilemma, right? As long as the task is as easy as standing on a single spot attacking and looting, you'll see bots.So there are certain ways to address that:

make the things that are botted less appealing

In case of the mermaid bots, simply fix the pet damage :P.  Shouldn't be too hard to make Ignition and Electric Shock a 2sec trigger, right? Anorther way is to make the pet damage based on the physical/magical skill effect, not just on attack power.

The same way, you could make it much more unlikely that Dayr mobs drop gear parts and rather let the merchants nearby sell it. Lowers the possible income, without restricting the access to the gear.

make it more cumbersome to do a certain task for several hours

This includes several things: Increasing the SP cost, lowering the weapon durability, changing the way repair kits are gained/used, pollute the bag, lower the stack size, add mobs with ranged attacks / zone attacks / stackable debuffs, lower the respawn rates, make the wanted drop based on several 'parts', and many more.

Most of these changes might also enrage the usual player base, because grinding is more or less the same as botting. Players however, would do certain things a bot might not do... f.e. pausing a moment and step to the side in order to repair themself (make repairs more cumbersome, but add a visible reminder). DNAs would be consumed, not stacked, etc..

The same way, it wouldn't be that difficult to double the material spots while halfing the drop rate. I could imagine whole carpets of flowers, rather than a single, quickly replenished spot. Less resource consuming than mobs anyways.

make the drop dependant on certain unbottable prerequisites

This means something like starting an 'hourly' quest, getting a certain buff,  or moving to a different spot due to periodically altered drop chances.

make it a reward, not a drop

Same as the previous point, but forcing a certain reaction afterwards.

make the drop bound to the character

If it's bottable loot and you're not able to farm it by yourself, you don't deseve it and you shouldn't be able to trade it. Simple as that. That doesn't mean that every item has to be untradeable, but surely all those items that are of specific value and that can be farmed.

And surely several other possibilities.

So I would be happy, if WarpPortal would at least search for a long term solution.

hurts the legit players more than the botters

A simple captcha like test would have suffice

time should be random

and is only activated when in combat, dealing or taking damage

ive seen this done with several games it worked for them until people capable of reverse engineering the game appeared

farmers you are seeing merely use macro, pretty sure they arent capable of doing that

the sophisticated bots are capable of NPCing stuff

and there wouldnt be much you can you about it

unless of course you bind everything and the only practical source of income would be Quest like wow

fortunately Ro2 isnt that profitable to make such program

Which one bothers you most?

This would definitely enrage me after a few times. I already find the hourly attendance popups annoying and surely wouldn't like to see this while I'm hunting mukas, osiris mobs or while in DWU-last room. And it wouldn't do anything against mats bots.

I have to agree, not only would a captcha be annoying, but captchas have long since been defeated by bots. The bots will continue to automatically work around any sort of test or nuisance (captchas, durability, junk loots) you put in their way while it'll be the real players that suffer and get bothered by them.
