I just blew through 6k kp and got +9 only 2 times on a a kvm mace. I used over 250 enriched ori and only got one attempt to +10. I barely got it back to +9 with around 20 enriched to spare. 

 

Worst luck I have ever had or trend?

sometimes when you get really lucky, its better to make it yourself

but at times when youre not lucky, the money you spent on the ores and upgrading process are better used for buying said items overupgraded already

Been always doin a +7 to +9 with 30 ores, if Im at 15 below I'd just try to get it back to +7, stop and re-do on another 30s [if I still fail on 90 ores just for 1 equip to +9, Id call it for the day and re-try again some other time]. Made a +9 kvm avenger and vellum fist after maint w/60 stacked e. oris. Tho my luck on e. elus are like 10~20 ores something for a +9 gear. RNGesus.

@ Daniel, I'm feeling you already made it +10 by now, gluck bro.

Oh one time I used over 250 enriched elu (5 boxes) and around 10ish elu (Yes I bought one by one from the cash shop) to get my shield back to +9.

i usually get +9s within 25 ores

 

this time its taking 50+ or more consistently, even with that getting to +10 is a pain in the ass much more so that before

I don't really mind spending a 50-100 ores for an equip, but to spend more than 10 certs making it +7 is really depressing..

+10 CoD - from +5

+10 Fire Armor - From +7

+10 Water Armor - From +7

 

+10 Hurricane Fury - From +9 ... it failed like 12 times going +10, but luckily kept goin back to +9 with enriched

There was an old superstition, that you should never upgrade on WoE days. The server lag caused by WoE worked against you when depending on RNG.

The same principle applies, as many people believed the absolute best time to upgrade was right after maintenance ended, when there's less people on the server, and as a result, less lag.

Took me 20 ores to get a Temporal Dex Boots [1] to +9.

Haven't upgraded anything other than that because I mostly upgrade stuff to be (re)sold later.

 

Tip (possibly):
If your item keeps failing to reach +8 even after so many attempt,leave Eden,into the town.
Then teleport to other city,enter Eden from there,try upgrading again.

If you keep failing again,go to other town and try again.

 

I entered Eden from Prontera with 30 ores,wasted 10 ores and then I moved to Geffen to try upgrading again.

I finally got the damn boots to +9 by using 10 ores,leaving 10 more ores available in my inventory.

 

Maybe it's just my luck but I've been quite successful using this method every time I'm upgrading things to +9.

The real method is to have more than enough ores and zeny to +9. You spam enter over and over again until you either

A: you run out of ores

Or

B: your gear reaches it's desired level

Nothing changes if you wait longer between upgrades, the results are still the same. It just takes you more time to reach the exact same result. 10+ years of upgrading experience has taught me the way.

Nothing you do will change the result. It's either gonna make it, or it won't. Save yourself some time, spam enter, so you can move onto other activities.

Used all 13 certs I had to just get to a +6 with the last one.

As for my results:

Started with 200 Enriched Elu

I made 7 pieces of +7 gear into +9 said gear

I still have 34 Enriched Elu left

I averaged about 23-24 Elu per +9
