hey there, i have mained a swordman class since i first started playing and i have my LK lv 90 now, hoping to get to rune knight sometime soon, but lately i have had some doubts.

 

 

is aura blade even worth getting? after putting some  tought into it, it only adds +100 damage at the end of the damage calculations if i remember correctly, i think it is modified by some percent damage increases and such , but im having doubts if its really worth spending 5 points on getting this skills that could be put to better use elsewhere.

 

 

what would you suggest?

I forgot how it works with skills but it gives more than 100 flat damage to physical melee skills and melee hits.  Definitely worth getting if Agility RK.  It also adds more than 100 damage of damage to IB, sonic wave, wind cutter, and bowling bash.

speaking of bowling bash, i remember that the gutter lines are there for bowling bash to hit twice, but why is it that  a lot of the time my bowling bash doesnt aoe?, it feels like a  more powerful bash. do i need to face a certain direction or ...?

You need to avoid standing on the gutters when you bowling bash. It's all trial and error, after some experience leveling with BB on certain maps, you will kind of get a feel of where you can use it, and where you shouldn't.

Gutter lines also prevent BB from doing AOE damage. SimpleROHook can make the lines visible, if you don't mind using a 3rd party program.

Aura Blade is a wonderful skill that adds flat ATK to any physical type skill EXCEPT Clashing Spiral, as dictated by the skill itself. It is very good especially for Agi RK as said earlier by another poster.

Right click the tray icon, mouse over 3D Map Grid and choose Show BBE.
