Do you gen an error message or does it just crash back to the desktop?

Did you already try to re-install the game? Maybe there has been a problem while patching the game.

Also worth I try is to disable the antivirus software and/or firewall and test if that works. It it does, add Dragon Saga to the exceptions.

A more strange solution is to try to move/install the game to another location than the default one (this sometimes helps, too).

I tried to reinstall it, but not work. I got no anti-virus and firewall is off. I moved the game, still not work.

EDIT: I did not get any error when it crashed, it just disappeared.

That doesn't sound good at all.

To summarize:

You can start the game, you see the WarpPortal, Gravity Games and ESRB logos?

You see the server selection? And then you click on the server and then it crashes?

Yes, I can start it, see all the logos, see the server selection, but when I double clicks on the server, it crashes.

P/S: This is my last post till Dec 22

Oh yes, you're new. Only 3 posts in the first 24hrs.

I will think about your problem, but finding this problem is difficult, because I never had one like this.

Because you can't answer here anymore today, I PM'd you.

That sounds like some of the files are corrupted. Did you try the usual solutions like turning of antivirus etc. ?

Or did you try to replace some of the files by older ones from another publisher, for example from eu or sea?

Mh...

If you can't get it to run, you can try out a completely installed version which has been uploaded to a mirror by another player.

It is almost up-to-date.

Download all this files into a folder and unpack the first one with WinRAR (or 7-Zip or such a program) to

a folder where your Dragon Saga should be started from.

The other files will be unpacked automatically.

http://1drv.ms/162iqYj

The game is completely installed and can be started  with the "Patcher.exe" from the folder you unpacked it.

Only problem is that no desktop or startmenu entries will be created. That must be done by yourself.

Good luck!

Oh, it seems there is a problem with PhsyX.

You can try to re-install the PhysX drivers here: http://www.nvidia.co...702-driver.html

Also check, if your graphics card drivers are installed and up-to-date.

Um... that's a tough one.

As the exception log says, part of the PhysX library has problems on your PC.

Did you uninstall your "old" PhysX before you tried to re-install this one?

May I ask, what type of Graphics Card you have?

I heard from other games which crashed if the PhysX driver was too new (no joke, I had this myself).

MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP 1
Intel Core i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10 GHz, 8.0 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660

I removed and installed PhysX again.

I can install an older version of PhysX but I am not sure what is the good one. What is yours?

Sorry for slow replies.

Sorry for the late response, but I needed some sleep in the night ;)

Before we now go to install older versions of any PhysX drivers which should only be the last option, check if you have enabled PhysX hardware acceleration. You should try to turn it off then.

This could be possible since you have an nVidia graphics card.

Have a look at this:

http://nvidia.custhe...pu-acceleration

These manual could be a bit outdated because of driver updates etc, but your nVidia Control Panel should have a PhysX option somewhere (I don't use an nVidia card myself, so I can't have a look).

Hello,

can you give me the exact sizes of

  • PhysXCore.dll
  • PhysXLoader.dll

which can be found in the DragonSaga/Release folder?

And please try out the following (but these can only be a temporary solution):

  • start Dragon Saga directly from the Release folder with the "dragonsaga.exe" instead of using the patcher with Administrator Rights
  • de-install your complete PhysX installation and leave it de-installed

DragonSaga uses it's own PhysX implementation which does not need PhysX drivers, but it seems something interferes with it.

That's a tough one.

The last idea is to copy the whole game to a location with a shorter path.

Maybe directly to "e:\SagonDraga" or "c:\SagonDraga" or whatever (the crazy name is intended, because some players have strange problems when installing into folder with the original name)

If this also does not work:

To every of this exception log files belongs a .dmp file (it's a bit bigger in size).

Are you able to zip/7-zip/rar it and upload it to a file hoster so I can download it to look into?

Maybe I can find the problem, but I can't promise.

Update:

I looked through the internet about this specific PhysXCore.dll problem and found out, that it isn't only Dragon Saga specific. Other "big titles" like BF3 and Batman for example have the exact same issue. The internet of full such reports for many different games. Mostly that could be fixed with disabling PhysX Acceleration by setting it to "CPU" - but this I told you already... Are you sure that you did this? Did you set the selection to "CPU"? Did you apply the settings, some dialogs reset the new settings if you only close them by clicking the "X" in the upper right window corner. The Problem seems to occur only with nVidia Graphic Cards which let me assume that this actually has to do with the only nVidia supported PhysX hardware acceleration.

It seems that is also happens randomly with ATI and Intel cards and I didn't find any solution to this besides the ones we already tried out. It must have something to do with the software environment.

The sizes you posted are okay, so the problem is not based on the Dragon Saga client.
