Hello, after busy days, I've finally become a GX, died twice (on Guard Dogs and Dandelions, so annoying xD) and still got an A from Mayshell haha!

 

I have been resetting now my skill points and I want to know where they are best invested on. I allocated 49 on 1st Job Skills because otherwise I couldn't invest on 2nd Job Skills and 69 on 2nd Job Skill Points, because of same reason, I could not invest directly to 3rd Job Skills.

 

Here is how I have allocated my Skill Points..

 

1st Job Skills:

 

Double Attack =  Lv10

Steal =                Lv10 (on purpose=for ZENY purposes)

Envenom =         Lv10 (don't if that's the best I could do for that)

Improve D. =      Lv10 (for soloing purposes sometimes, I know we should mob for faster levelling)

Hiding =              Lv8 (and definitely not sure about this since we don't normally use this a lot, but because I couldn't use the left-overs straightaway on 2nd Job Skills

Detoxify =           Lv1 (curing poison stat)

 

2nd Job Skills:

 

Katar Mastery = Lv10

Cloaking =         Lv3

Enchant P. =      Lv10

L. & R. =            Lv5 each (I use dagger sometimes)

SB =                  Lv10 (For RC)

MA =                 Lv10 (I thought this would be a good when I'm mobbed with RC? Ok or not?)  

Create Deadly P. = Lv1

EDP =               Lv5

Adv. K Mast.=   Lv5

I'm a well experienced Sin-class player and I get these skills

As a Thief at job 50;
Double Attack 10, Improve Dodge 10,
Steal 8, Hiding 10, Detoxify 1 and Envenom 10.

Why Hiding 10? It's because Hiding is a whole lot useful than Steal is.

As an Assassin Cross at job 70;
Enchant Poison 10, Create Deadly Potion 1, Enchant Deadly Poison 5,
Cloaking 3, Katar Mastery 10, Adv. Katar Mastery 5, Poison React 10,
Sonic Blow 10, Grimtooth 5, Right + Left Hand Masteries 5/5.

Why not Meteor Assault? It's because Rolling Cutter is by far the best mobbing skill a Assassin class can have.
Why not Soul Destroyer? It's because you'll end up with little to no INT at all so it's useless.

The Guillotine Cross skills are mostly chosen in regard of your stat build.

Secondly i agree with most of MegaEdge's post.

 

But i would like to bring up a couple points that may help OP with their decision.

 

Why Hiding 10? It's because Hiding is a whole lot useful than Steal is.

 

I do agree hiding is way more useful that steal, but i can't think of a situation where you would need to use the full 5 minutes of hide time that level 10 gives you, while i could see the usefulness of getting an extra 12% steal rate from level 10 steal, especially for special event quests that require special event drops from event mobs that you could steal from.

Hiding level 10(5 minutes max) + Steal level 8(52% steal rate)

versus

Hiding level 8(4 minutes max) + Steal level 10(64% steal rate)

I agree with this statement, once you turn into GX and get RC, you will hardly ever have to use MA again.

Only two reasons i see to get MA at all.

1. You get MA as a sinx to mob level, but once you turn into a GX at level 99, use the free skill reset npc in ilzude(level 99 and under requirement to use npc), and then take out MA for something more useful.

2. If you plan on using sapha cloth armor, it procs MA on auto attacks, so it could proc level 10 MA, if your MA was level 10. But i don't think its worth it to have level 10 MA for this reason alone

Now this is the one i mostly disagree with.

Renewal SD is not based on INT anymore but more on MATK

The irowiki page for SD is highly, extremely outdated, its basically all pre-renewal info.

Renewal SD:

1. Formula is ((ATK + MATK) * (3 + (.5 * skill level))

So damage is not based on your INT, but on your MATK. A base INT GX could still deal good damage with SD.

Also since ATK and MATK have equal say in the formula, its just easier to stack ATK, and forget about MATK.

And ATK is also increased by EDP and cards.

2. It is considered a range skill so AS cards and EA enchants work on it.

3. EDP also works on it now, but only gives it a half modifier.

4. SD no longer misses, it will always do full damage regardless of target's FLEE.

SD is mainly useful for SS runs, in a party with strings you could spam SD until bapho dies, even during his invincible stage, bypassing the need to press seals.

while SD has its uses, it's not efficient to use for leveling as a GX, so keep that mind when prioritizing gear.

Yes Necro, I have chosen RC for GX and left MA and SD lvl 0.. instead i mastered poison react and enchant poison..

And u guys are right, using RC is actually quite addictive, and there's no way you would use MA when u have RC..
