Hey guys, I'm thinking of transing my assassin to high thief.  I'm still poor (only about 2m zeny) and am using Eden gears.  

 

First, which is better for Assassin Cross, GX: daggers or katars.  Katars seem more fun and I LOVE seeing those crits.  Do GX skills need katar only?

 

Also, since I'm poor, what would you recommend me aiming for in terms of mid-level gear?  The high-end stuff is all 30-70m a piece, and I have no clue how I'll afford those.

I recommend you use skill damage than critical damage especially if your a low level like those level 150 below

(critical type assassin or GX means 1 by 1 killing of mobs and if your low level decent stat in critical build Sxn or GX your skill is always miss).

 

 

skills do not do critical damage (Sxn or GX) there performance is on DEX & AGI or STR

skills can kill 5-10 mobs in single moment. (the amount of loot is depends on how many you just kill in short amount of time).

critical can kill 1 by 1 only (Higher level mobs in high level maps are aggressive/High HP/High Def/High Hitrate... R.I.P). 

and how the heck you gonna level-up from 100-110 which is a total  of 140m exp in 1 by 1 killing? (2k exp each "no event")

 

 

BUT before that

you should fix your zeny problem first.

I would just like to add tho if you like katar, use katar. Katar is great in the sense that it doubles you crit. So even with 1 luk, simply using an abrasive will mean you now have a 60% crit rate.

So when you are using katars, you should most certainly use skills to mob train, but if you happen to see a mini boss or simply on a map where there are strong monsters, use an abrasive and click to kill with crit.

 

My personal belief is katars are better because they are more versatile and more fun. I also like the krishna katar because it auto casts sonic blow. Now when this activates, it does force a delay onto you, (i believe 2 seconds) where you can no longer attack, and will need to reclick to attack after the 2 second delay, but it doesnt use SP and it activates quite often and does good damage. They are also fairly cheap and have card slots.

Oh wow, I never knew about abrasive before.  But I just searched ragial for it and the only thing that came up is a 10-pack Abrasive box for 7.5m????  Are they always that expensive for just a few minutes worth?

I personally cannot comment on the market value, as i have never paid for them. But chances are if its a box, it was probably bought with WP points (meaning someone paid real money for it) So i guess it makes sense for it to be 7.5mil for 10.

 

Not to mention, even if its only for a few minutes (i thought it was 5 minutes?) gaining 30 crit from a consumable is kind of a big deal! its going to be worth decent zeny.

katars are a cheaper option than daggers, and even if you don't use crit you could card it with a sidewinder or some such.

If you are looking for cheap gears, try the Morrigane Set. It gives you plenty of Crit and P. Dodge, plus you can buy the whole set for less than 8m.
