Hello everyone. I haven't played RO for a few years now, and I just re-started playing not long ago.

I'd like help/advice on an AGI/(crit)? RK build that focuses on using swords and bowling bash/ignition break, focused on PvM (if that's viable). I play together with a priest (dual box), currently about to change to LK/HP (55/50). I'd be thankful if anyone experienced could provide general stats and link skill builds. Any additional info such leveling spots or affordable/effective gear is greatly appreciated.

Currently gear wise I have the Goibne set, Morrigane set apart from the manteau, Fricco set with Earth Deleter on armor card, Vanberk Marionette doll hat and about 40m zeny. What should I use/buy? Weapon wise only a  Fire Claymore and +7 Double Crit 2H Sword.

Current stats are:
Str 21
Agi 61
Vit 31
Int 11
Dex 37
Luk 1

Basically, assume I know nothing! Help me please :).

You can see builds on the RK section on irowiki.org and some builds on the stickied threads on this forum. Basically you want to focus on the IB skill itself and worry about AGI and/or CRIT later, because leveling at the higher levels is all AOE centric. AGI/CRIT builds are actually pretty weak but there are some very situational uses for them. Their builds aren't that different stats/skills wise either and is more of just a difference on what gears you wear.

Should I reset my stats as early as possible then? Since the Iro WIKI guide recommends 1 agi for the IB/BB build and I've got 61 points spent. Thanks!

It depends on your playstyle and who you ask.

I prefer VIT/shield, myself.

Some people say: Level as an AGI build to save pots. I think this only works until about level 85. After that, you start mobbing, and VIT/shield becomes the better choice.

It's probably not a good idea to reset until you're a higher level and single-target leveling gets super slow.

I went from AGI knight to SVD/spear. I use a Hunting Spear with an Archer Skeleton card for Clashing Spiral. With CS, I kill things a lot faster than I ever did with my autoattacks. With 90 VIT and a shield, I tank better too.

I think the most effective way to play a knight (before getting your third job skills) is with VIT, a one-handed sword or spear, shield, Clashing Spiral, and Bowling Bash.

The problem I have with an AGI build is this: To get good ASPD, you need to use either really expensive gear, such as a Heroic Backpack, or AGI/Flee gear, like the Dragon Vest + Dragon Manteau combo, which reduces your defense.

The other problem I have with it is that it's very buff-dependent. Spear Dynamo, Aura Blade, and Two-Hand Quicken require a lot of SP. You'd think an autoattack build would be more SP-efficient, but in my experience, it's the least SP-efficient build. The most SP-efficient build, and maybe the one that's also the least buff-dependent, is Brandish.

I think, in the end, VIT/shield is cheaper and more effective than going AGI after level 85. Getting a Vali's Manteau and a Platinum Shield, combined with your Goibne's Armor, will start you off nicely.

Hunting Spears are cheap weapons, too, and perfect for Bowling Bash and Clashing Spiral. You don't need the Archer Skeleton for it to be effective early on.

Oh, also, Variant Shoes are kind of cheap these days. The price seems to have gone up to 9mil recently, but I got mine for 6-7mil.

I have a pair of Vital Tree Shoes I'd be willing to give you for free. xP

Stats are kind of tricky.

Generally, for VIT builds, I leave AGI at 1, get 90 VIT, and reasonable amounts of STR, INT and DEX.

Leveling spots:

Until 60, do the Orc Warrior bounty board in Geffen.

At 60, do Golems in Comodo.

At 70, harpies and TIs!

I edited this post to remove some stuff. I was trying to cram all of my recent frustrations/experiences into one post, and it didn't work. xP

Thank you so much for your advice Lioness. I found it very very handy. I stopped putting points in agi after 61, I'm focusing on just str vit and dex now. From my understanding having a bit of agi isn't bad for casting delays, but 61 might be a bit much, so I'll probably have to get some of those reset stones before it becomes more expensive :)

I will look into those shoes! they sound very very useful. In case you got any stuff you don't need, I'd gladly take it, since I need any help I can get atm! My character name is Namago. Thank you!

I'd like to ask something, and I figured this would be the best place for it! I recently got a Twin Edge of Naght Sieger [3] (red) and was wondering what I should card this for general leveling and such. I'm currently level 75. I don't have the money required for Bowling Bash cards. Any advice? Thank you! Also, regarding enchant stuff (don't know anything about it <.<) what should I do?

Other typical option is hunter fly cards for getting HP back. What are you doing for leveling right now? Still single target ctrl-click? Gramps TI parties? Solo AOE leveling with healing items?

Right now I'm thinking of going aoeing petites with High Priest buffs and stuff, figured it would be a good place to level. Hunter fly cards best for that? Guessing that andre are a bit of a waste. (or anti dragon ones?) Too bad they're quite pricy atm, around 14m each and I only have around 30m budget D:

What about enchantments? Where can I get one for my sword?

What are you planning on doing for recovering HP? I see that you have an earth deleter card, which should be okay for SP. Dual cliented healers are unwieldy for recovering HP for leveling usually, since your main character will be (or should be!) fwing-ing around the map to find big mobs.

"Worth it" or not is a gray, debatable topic. Andre is probably a waste. Anti-dragon probably is too, unless you plan on spending a very long time at a certain dragon map. For example, I suggested making anti-bug cards on a red twin to a friend who was planning on grinding at Scarabs for a very long time. Note that the higher levels come MUCH slower, so he was probably going to spend days or even weeks at that map. So those cards were somewhat worth it for him. Dragons, well, 75-99 doesn't take long at all. 75-85 is very fast, and at 85 you will be able to get decent parties in low TI. For higher levels, I can't think of too much use for anti-dragons especially since most (or all?) high level dragons are large size, and one-handed swords only do 75% damage to large size.

Fair enough! I'll just keep it uncarded and level there for only a while, and I guess rely on whites to regen :) I don't know enough about TI parties, never really been to any.

Bliss, I actually started as a hybrid 2-hander knight then became an IB/BB spammer when i hit high enough as a RK to get IB to 5.  I'd say you should sit in parties in TI's until you hit about 115-118 or so and then...

I actually had the same problem where hunter flys were going for 20m a pop and didnt feel like spending that much on red twins that i could get for 18m.  My solution was to card it cheap for what i was leveling on at the time.

I started by carding my first red twin with 3 hydras, and leveled on raydrics/khalitz in chiv 2 (khalitz arent demi, but you'll find they still take plenty of damage, whereas raydrics which are demi get 2 shot by IB, abyssals too).  After rays slowed down a bit I started farming isilla's in rachel sanc, which are also demi.  Panacea cures all their status effects and i tend to buy them in bulk (500+) when people are vending them.

After demi's slowed down i held onto the triple bloody red twin, but bought another and slotted 3 caramel cards (+damage vs insect)  and am now grinding the hell out of Scaraba's doing roughly 30k IB/BB combos to them.

The idea is that any gear you buy while leveling is probably going to get replaced in the future, and IB/BB seems a natural progression if you are/were a 2h Agi knight.  You will resell that gear eventually, which will be bought by someone lower than you on the totem pole...whilst you climb higher in gear requirements for whatever you're doing.

Anyways, that being said, looking at your stats...

Start making dex and str a priority, beeline toward 60 dex, and get str to 80 or so, then start pumping into vit after that.  Spear Dynamo + 60 dex should be sufficient for a long time until you just start hitting raydrics, at which point you should raise dex to about 70 and then leave it alone until you're ready to make the ultimate choice of "Am I going to respec to DB or maximize my leveling as IB/BB".   Also with your first few levels of RK @ 100-105 i'd recommend getting 40 int ASAP just to help out with your impending future SP problems.

And finally, the last mob you will realistically be able to grind efficiently as a 2h quicken RK will be magmarings.  After that, mob aggression will force you to use too many pots/SP items for it to be worthwhile, thus time to switch to sword n board and start AOE'ing your little heart out.

(I see a cranial shield in your future).

Edit 1: You mentioned white's as your healing pot of choice, might i also suggest Aloe Leaflets, which are about the same but weigh less (unless using slims, in which case aloe's are much more cost efficient).  You can either buy these from vendors or farm the crap out of green lizards aka groves which drop them like candy pinatas along with hinalle leaflets.  I personally wouldn't pay more than 1200-1500 for them.

Edit 2: if you happen to do the wool quest going on in payon for rescuing lost lambs, milk costs 25z each and end up healing as much as white pots once you recieve the costume baphomet hat as a reward.  This will only be around about another week or so from this post but thats basically "Free" leveling consumables which might save you a couple million.
